To celebrate Sega's announcement that more imports were coming to our Virtual Console, we thought we'd feature the Sega-est, import-est thing we could possibly think of: the Sega-themed sim/RPG/shooter Segagaga. Sure, it's a Dreamcast game and not a Genesis game, but it is all about the love of Sega.
Segagaga is a game in which Sega fans are put in charge of the failing company and work along with programmers and lots of Sega characters to save it. When the game came out, Sega was doing dandy, but, well, now it's a little ironic. However, the whole thing is a giant love letter from Sega to itself, and it stands as the Sega-est thing in the universe. If you don't feel a little bit of Sega love in your heart, then ... we won't say anything about you, because some of you will deny it in comments anyway just to be contrary, and we don't want to give you any ammo.
The intro movie is posted above; check after the break for a couple of different versions of the inspiring theme song!
Segagaga March -- SEGAROCKS Live Version
Lyrics (translation by DELTAHEAD, found here)
"Sega March"
Sega, Sega--Oota-ku, Tokyo,
Keikyu Haneda Airport line, Ohtorii station.
Game creation is our sanctuary in life,
Yet victory is still far away.
We stumble and get depressed, but we move on.
Sega, Sega--oh, move on to tomorrow.
Sega, Sega--near the Tama River.
Take the Haneda-guchi exit off Shuto Highway, then head to Kanpachi.
Arrows and bullets spent, without friends,
Yet our minds and spirits soar higher.
Jump for joy! Let's help each other and stand together!
Sega, Sega--oh, move on to tomorrow.
Sega, Sega--oh, move on to tomorrow.

When sega lost it's console section, there must have been a lot of die hard sega fans left in the cold. I wonder where the rats* went when the ship sank?
Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft? Maybe some just gave up gaming altogether. But where did the majority go to I wonder.
*note, I don't actually think of Sega fans as ship hugging Vermin. It's a metaphore.

What are you talking about, the game came out at the end of Dreamcast's lifespan. The dream was over soto speak... :'(
As a die-hard Sega fan, now that Sega are dead (and they ARE a dead company)I've just been kinda drifting from console to console, feeling no kind of love for any of them. I like Nintendo sometimes when they do things right but gaming isn't the same without Sega...

@Onomah - I'm guessing the majority sided with Nintendo.
Speaking of which, at 1:40 into the first video,(-0:20), it looks like the Sega building is made from a giant Wii.

The Sonic Team fans jumped to Nintendo
The SegaNet fans jumped to Microsoft
Few self-respecting Sega fans jumped to Sony, as it was responsible (as much as it could be, aside from Sega's own business ineptitude) for the death of their favorite company
But yeah, Segagaga came out when the writing was already on the wall

Onomah: it was rather a difficult time for all of us. The Gamecube seemed to be getting the most Sega support, but the Xbox was getting really interesting stuff like Jet Set Radio Future and (we thought it was interesting at the time) Gunvalkyrie.
And let's be honest. Few self-respecting Sega fans "jumped to Sony" because they already had PS2s.

I grew up a Sega kid from Master System to Dreamcast. After Sega died out, Nintendo seemed to pick up a lot of the pieces (as JC mentioned). Out of all of the consoles out, I found that I could get not only my Phantasy Star/Sonic fix, but also my Mario/Zelda/Metroid fix (from growing up around kids that went the Nintendo route) if I just bought a Gamecube and a Gameboy Player (lots of retro goodies coming out at that time for the GBA). So that's the way I did it and now I'm stuck to Nintendo like glue.

So, who's the final boss of this game? A giant Miyamoto or a giant Kutaragi?
