Look at them. Cool, calm, expessionless; the cyborgs models in the latest Wii Fit videos just find the non-game an absolute breeze. To an almost disconcerting degree, in fact.
More doughy types such as ourselves won't look quite as graceful while negotiating Nintendo's fitness title -- we doubt anybody but these women could achieve that -- but that doesn't mean we won't enjoy ourselves as we perspire, pant and grimace our way through ski-jumping, heading soccer balls, and spinning hula hoops. Perfect for the post-Christmas weight loss drive.
There's another five videos after the break, jam-packed with some very serious Wii Fit action.

Awesome videos, thank you!
Since one of the main points of a Wii is to get family and friends to gather around the TV, I wonder if there will be a multi-player option for Wii Fit. I think it would be fun to do this with my wife simultaneously.
On a side note... the back ground of the hula-hoop video reminds me of the TV game show "Wheel of Fortune"
Hula-hoop = wheels of fortune
coincidence?

Mickey honestly I am scraping my brain for an insult lame enough to be worthy of your pointless comment. The only thing I can come up with was that your mom is boring too

Somewhere, Quagmire is watching these videos and saying "awwwwwwllriiiggghht!"
Seriously, though -- it seems like a potentially cool concept if there's enough variety to keep it fresh as long as possible w/o repeating tasks.
I agree with the multi-user aspect -- can we buy two WiiFits and use them together (more of a software issue, really)?

It's really freaky in the fifth video where the girl is doing yoga, there's no noticable delay between the WiiFit model and the actual model. When the guy is doing it you can tell he's watching the video to see what to do, the other one has to be a cyborg, with Wiimotes for forearms.

I just hope that there will be more quality titles released for specific use of the board.. thus justifying the purchase.. *prays for skiing or skateboarding*

I hope Nintendo actually tries to document its results before releasing it to ensure that people will actually have an increase in the level of "fitness".
The activities they performed were not at all physically challenging. Hula-hoops would work well as a cardiovascular work out but that’s only when you take into the consideration that your body is moving he hula-hoops and you have to compensate of the resistance from the hula-hoop by exerting slightly more force in the opposite direction. In Wiifit there is no resistance so I don't think it will have any benefits.
In addition, the head butting of the soccer balls would be good if it actually required you to exert some forward force with your upper body. The model demonstrates you only need to lean. Has anyone ever heard or seen a fitness representative telling you to get fit by slightly leaning?
Basically, the Wiifit won't get you fit because the activities don't require enough physical movement to do so. A person could go power walking and gain a higher fitness level.

@Joseph: I agree. This is not going to make you "fit".
@ashylarry: Agreed. How many Americans did they beta test this with? Can a 250 pound person stand on this? 300? I'll bet not.
On a side note, I could watch the hula-hoop video all day. ;)
