Here in the U.S., the Wii has been out for nearly a year, which means it's about time we asked: would you rebuy the system just to get a different color? Seems like it would be quite an expenditure, but then again, Wiis are still in pretty high demand in a lot of places, especially with the holidays creeping up on us, so it probably wouldn't be too difficult to unload the one you have if you wished to do so.What about multicolored controller combos, however? That seems much more like something we'd go for ... and then maybe put some spiffy straps on 'em.

I wouldn't re-buy my Wii for a different color (though I'd love a black one). I'm sure I could sell mine easily, but I'd probably have to lose some money on the deal because I've bought a lot of VC games.
Plus, I waited on line overnight to get mine on launch day. I'd kinda want to keep my classic white one to remember the occasion (which was a surprisingly awesome night).

Hmm, interesting thought. I could definitely re-buy a Wii for the color and then give up my white one to my mom or something with WiiFit "bundled".

I do plan on getting a black one so I can put woodgrain decals on it, and put my white one at my parents' house for when I visit them (and to hopefully get them doing Wii bowling or whatever.)
Whenever that happens.

if i could unload my white Wii for about what i paid for it i might buy a colored one. the kicker would be any other remodel/additional features or DVD playback. but i saw in recent news that ain't coming anytime soon. i assume since i linked my Shopping Channel to my Nintendo account, i can redownload my games. i can't see a remodeling happening, though. that's more of a handheld thing. plus, how could it get any smaller?!??!

I'd drop for multi-colored remotes. Better to keep track of who has which remote during pizza/Wii parties.

No, if only because there's no way to transfer your Wi-fi stuff. That is, all of the people you spent all that time entering friend codes for.
I even sent Nintendo an e-mail asking about it, and was told that no, it's not possible to transfer that stuff like on a DS. I've seen nothing to indicate that's changed.

I would go for a new color remote but I wouldn't give up my Wii for a new color. I just wouldn't want to drop all the VC titles that I have (by the way is now at a wonderful 32).

I would really, really want to buy a new one for a different color, but like my ds lite (which is white) I'll just sit and secretly wish it would break so i would be justified in spending the money. However, if they came out with a new design with slightly better features (as they did with the DS phat to the DS lite) I would trade up in a heartbeat. I hate white.

Can't justify buying a brand new Wii. I didn't sit outside of Target all fricken night just to get a system I'd use one year. However, that black Wiimote looks SLEEK. If they came out with that and one of my four Wiimotes suddenly teleported between my shoe and some cement, then yeah, I would get that.

I'd spill blood for a red Wiimote.
Which, now that I think about it, would work out just fine...

When the plethora of colors was announced and even when it was just black or white, I always wanted the White. I never wanted another color - so I've bought the console and my four remotes, I won't be rebuying for a new color.

As it stands, I'd love to get different colored wiimotes (especially if you can still get it with wii play. But I dont see the point in swapping the wii itself just for the colour. Perhaps if they added something else like dvd (which I hope they will add to the current wii in a firmware update anyway). Or HDMI output or HDD (*drools*).
How about Different coloured Wiimote/ nunchuck combos? B/w (piano) green/ orange (tic tac!) I remeber I used to unscrew the backs of my n64 controllers and swap them to create two tone ones. Would love to do something similar with the wii. (again b/w would be perfect)

If I didn't own a Wii, I might buy one. I wouldn't re-buy it though. I could potentially trade mine in toward the purchase of a new, colored one if it would cost me less than $25, and my channels/VC games/shop points transferred to the new console.

They really should start releasing that black Wii. They shouldn't wait for demand to fall BEFORE they release the new one. That's not how Apple works. The iPod Mini was the most popular thing out there then Apple decides to get rid of it and exchange it with the Nano. Risky move but it paid of big time for them. Nintendo has to do the same thing! Keep demand up and keep the craze going!

I have yet to buy a Wii for the simple reason that it has not come out in black yet.
Nintendo better get on that, if not for the holidays, at least for Brawl.

Yeah, a black one would look pretty damn nice, but I waited in line to get in early Dec last year...and in good conscience I can't buy something when I have a perfectly workable version of it already.

What happened to multi-color controllers? That whole thing seemed to have started and ended with N64. Think about it: N64 is frequently shown with a set of blue, red, yelloy, and green controllers and it looks really good, but with any other system, especially anything after N64 and Wii even more especially, it would just look weird. The neutral white somehow manages to clash with any color that isn't white. Granted, it looks fin if all your controllers are similar neutral tones but I can't imagine a Wii with blue, red, yellow, and green controllers looking very good at all. Why is that?
