We've shared some of our not-so-secret desires for the Virtual Console with you, and every week, we revisit the topic, thanks to our own JC Fletcher -- but how do you feel about how the VC is shaping up? It seems likely that there's at least one game you'd like to see that isn't up there yet (hi2u, StarTropics, insert frowny-face, etc.), but overall, there is a pretty good selection so far, with more to come. What we want to know is: how do you feel about the line-up so far? What about pricing? The selection of systems? Are you enjoying the VC more or less than you were months ago?Wii Warm Up: Virtual Console

The selection is really starting to get good lately. The pricing is fine, though I would like to see flexible pricing, with the current price set to the maximum for a given system. I own a good number of titles, but I expected I would. I'm very pleased with getting the non-nintendo systems, since I didn't own some of them and never had a chance to play those games.

I just want more actual Wii titles released. Nov through Jan looks big, and that is great, but does it really have to be either a trickle or a flood. A happy medium would be nice. I know some filks really do want to play Bee Movie and other not so appealing titles, but something good for the grown-ups would me nice to have more often. Now this month, there is a ton of stuff I want. It feels better getting it over time rather than all at once...my wallet sobs.
Oh, I would like to see Wizards and Warriors.

I'd love to see a good version of Tetris.
I also wonder if we'll ever see Super Mario All-Stars, especially now that all 4 of the Mario games included in that are now available individually.

I would like to see wiimote funcionality in the VC, it'd be perfect for games like Bayou Billy, Gotcha, Hogan's Alley, and Mario Paint. Actually Gotcha for the NES I personally believe to be Nintendo's first attempt at a "nunchuk-like" control style. It'd be great to play it again now that they have perfected the idea they started with it.
And of course, Rygar, which they could actually package as a free download if you buy the new one when it comes out.

I think the selection is pretty good...at least, I have most of the NES games through VC that I used to have in the early-90s...
...EXCEPT "TNMT II: The Arcade Game"... I know it's on the 360, but come on...
May as well throw in "Goldeneye 007" while we're at it, then... :-P

Super Dodge Ball for the NES....loved that game...was great for two players and still fun for one (nothing like conquering the world with glowing, homing, flaming balls!). With the exception of a few key missing titles, I think the VC has a good balance of games and ther release schedule is ahead of my buying power....so Nintendo needs to keep up the good releases, but make some kind of rewards system so I can afford more games. 50 wiipoints for every 500 spent...200 free points with new Wii games purchases....or something like that...

I grew up as a Nintendo gamer, never owning a Genesis or TurboGrafx, and am too young to have experienced the NES that much, so I would just like to download all my old favorites and relive my childhood. Unfortunately, the SNES only has had a few of those games release, and N64 virtually none. Bring me Super Mario RPG and I'll shut up, though. That is enough to keep me very, very quiet.

I've spent an ungodly ammount of money on the VC. It works perfect for me, because, not only did I miss out on a lot of systems my parents wouldn't buy me (snes, n64, tbg16 etc) but for the 2 systems I did have (nes, genesis), I hardly had any games. So there are TONS of games I heard about as a child, got excited about, and never got to play.
If I could request one game, it would be DecapAttack for the sega genesis. The art style was so awesome, and freakin bizarre! And if my memory serves me, the gameplay was pretty solid.
My second wish would be Blaster Master.

The selection is pretty good at this point.
I wish they'd put arcade games on there, though. I'd rather have the real SFII rather than the gimped SNES version.
And Saturn games, too. I'd love to get my hands on NiGHTS, Tomb Raider, Radiant Silvergun, Earthworm Jim and all the other games I'm to lazy to think of at the moment.
I'd also like it if they at least added Wiimote functionality for some games. Sin & Punishment is fun, but it'd be a LOT better with Wiimote aiming.
And of course, if they added online playability to some games, too, I'd be in heaven!

Holy crap! Someone else remembers this game! I remember I got my parents to buy me this game wen I was little just because I liked the name of it.
I HATED the way the guy jumped, though. Awful and hard to control!

How about Kizuna Encounter?
A NEOGEO game so rare that it was sold on eBay for $12000. That would give collectors a heart attack.
And while we are on the subject, how about adding pre-2000 arcade games to the VC?

Or Rondo of Blood, which was going for $200 on eBay.
The Wii can be the system that destoys the classic game auction market.

Super Mario RPG, and licensing be damned, find a away to get Killer Instinct 1 & 2 : And how about some Nintendo arcade ROMs. The arcade Cruisin' games, Killer Instinct, F-Zero AX and Mario Kart GP!
I'd say Goldeneye, but have any of you actually gone back and played it lately? Find a way to fix the frame rate, but up-res'ing will make the game look worse. Remake?! Not likely, but we can dream :D

I'm waiting for Contra!
I still think the pricing is out of wack. If games were $2 and $3, I'd buy a ton more games. Its just the "well, its only two bucks" instead of $5 and $10, which makes me think more about what I want to get.

This is probably the third time I have griped about this on here so I'm sorry, but no, I am not happy with the VC. I was led to believe that the entire NES catalogue would be available and I don't understand the weekly trickle of mostly 3rd tier games that most people have never even heard of unless it is to make Nintendo more money by having people buy games that they normally would not have bought if all of their favorites were available from the beginning. Either way, it is obnoxious, but I did just get my Simon's Quest, so that's pretty cool.
Jackyl(w/online co-op); Dr. Mario(w/online vs); Battletoads(w/online co-op); Golden Eye(w/ online vs); Banjo Kazooie; That squirrel game where you start out drunk or hungover on the 64 that looked pretty interesting; Bad Dudes; Double Dragon; Mega ManII; Star Fox (SNES); Blades of Steel (NES)... oh, there are so many.

I still think the prices are a little steep for what they're selling: downloadable files of games they made a fortune with 15 years ago.
I still haven't actually bought any VC games. Ususally when I'm turning on the Wii, I want something a little more sophisticated. If I want something simple, I'll play free games on the computer.
What would get me interested (and I still can't believe they haven't done this yet) are the old arcade light gun games. They would be perfect for the Wii. I'd especially like to play Chiller again, although now they'd probably rate it AO.
Overall it seems like the folks in charge of the VC are lobotomized business execs who're given allot of money but don't have a clue what to do with any of it.

Blades of steel, Double Dragon, Stunt Race FX, Super Punchout!!!, Contra, Air Fortress, Mutant League Football (GEN)... I could really go on. I think the Wii Ware version of Dr. Mario will keep me happy whenever it comes out.
I agree with some of the posts above. They need to develop some of the old NES shooters (Duckhunt, Hogan's Ally, etc.) using the Wii Remote as the old Zapper... or maybe they're waiting for the Wii Zapper before they do that?
And of course, Goldeneye... but that'll probably never happen. :(

There's a ton of great VC games already out -- the problem is, I've already played almost all the good ones. I bought a lot when the consoles first came out, and I played most of the other good ones later on using emulators. There might be one or two VC games that I would like and haven't played yet, but I don't think there's many. I have very limited time, and while I'd love to play back through some of my favorites, the wealth of new games coming out now get priority.

The VC still has a shocking deficiency of Mother, otherwise its good
Plus, since they're pushing non-localized stuff across, maybe they could push Mother 1 out? A game they actually localized for North America, but never released?

I'm happy with the majority of the releases so far but there are a few that I'd like to see:
3D-World Runner, with the glasses included, Duck Hunt, Track and Field, The Adventures of Bubble Boy, Bubsy (genesis), Space Harrier, Final Fantasy, Secret of Mana, Crüe Ball (a great genesis pinball game). I'd also like to see more Japan-Only releases or Europe-only releases, we missed out on some great games the first time around, why not let us play them now...
