Clearly, people kicking around IGN love them some Mario, even to the exclusion of anthing else on the Wii. This screencap turned up on Digg recently, showing recent user activity, and it's just a parade of plumberly love. Look, we like Mario as much as the next rabid and frothing Nintendo fan ... but do you think this is an accurate representation of what's interesting on our favorite console?[Via Digg]

It is a perfect representation in my opinion, with Twilight Princess fading into that grey release-game category.. It looks right to me!

Honestly I am interested in Mario Galaxy, and Strikers was good, but let's get real here.
Sonic and Mario is mediocre, probably just testing the waters for a later Mario and Sonic game.
Mario Kart Wii will suck.
Super Paper Mario was one of the easiest games of all time.

I own, have owned, or will own all of those except Olympics and Mario Party 8. I bought Mario 1, 2, 3, and World as soon as they were out on the VC. I bought SMG yesterday, on its release day. I bought SPM the week of release.
However, I've actually spent more time with games without the plumber. TP, MP3:C, Tiger Woods, RE4:WE, Zack and Wiki, and of course Wii Sports. Mario games are great and I'll probably play them all at some point, but I think the more interesting, new and exciting games are the ones that don't play the same princess-formula over again.

I love Mario. I own 11 Wii games, and 2 are Mario related.
I own Wii Sports, Zelda TP, Warioware, Wii Play, Super Paper Mario, Resident Evil 4, Metroid Prime 3, Zack and Wiki, Firte Emblem, battalion Wars 2, Super Mario Galaxy.
I LOVE Mario games, but that is not what a Nintendo system should 100% be known for. It should be only about 80%. Zelda and Metroid need some lovin' too!
I got Super Mario Galaxy yesterday- I am 26 stars in already... IT IS SO GOOD.

If they had Super Mario Gameshow or Super Mario Office Working 64, I would probably buy it. No just kidding, but Mario games tend to be high quality cause Nintendo invests big money in their development. Although I'm still pretty skeptical about the Olympics game. And whoever said Mario Kart will suck has to be kidding me.
27 stars into Galaxy!

Actually, I kind of feel more dedicated to the Everybody Votes Channel than I do to any game for my Wii.
I picked up Mario Galaxy yesterday [thank you WiiFanboy for pointing out the ToysRUs promo] and as soon as I got home I opened the package and flipped through guide book starry-eyed. Then thoroughly primed, I ran to my Wii put the disk in, but instead of going straight to the disc channel, I had to find out whether more people were fascinated or scared by thunder and lightening, and to express my opinion on Suntans.

Way too much Mario for my tastes. I like most of the Mario platformers and Mario RPGs, but most (or simplified: all) other games starring Mario don't appeal to me, mainly due to really boring single player modes.
Now that I think about it, the list makes me very sad. Many great games seem to get overlooked because they don't have a Nintendo character's name in the title.

Those IGN "Most Popular" change often. But I can't believe Mario Kart 64 was more popular than Resident Evil UC. In mean, people are looking to reviews or hints to Kart? Or are they thinking they can find motorcycles in there?

At the moment, after having played a few hours of the beyond superlative Mario Galaxy, no one can say a bad word about Mario that I'll listen to.
It's been 11 years since we had an amazing Mario game that was an absolute classic must play game redefining experience. Galaxy is stunning and leaves me positively thinking about all Mario games...even that frustratingly difficult badly titled 'Sunshine' debacle.
If you'd asked me a few weeks ago I'd say we've had too much Mario...at the moment, Galaxy is just happening to fast. I want to savor every galaxy, it's the most fun I've had playing a game in a long time, probably ever.

I'm assuming that the cap was taken recently, and slightly in advance of the release of Galaxy.
Given that Galaxy was about to come out, it makes sense that people, excited about the game but not actually in possession of it, would be looking at information on a bunch of Mario related games. They were feeling the Mario-Mania, as it were.

I went to GameStop yesterday and walked out with nothing but a $3 copy of Stretch Panic. Because I am a ROGUE.

Ok I will be a little different than most people posting. I bought Mario Vs Sonic and it really rocks. I could care less about what other people say about the game, but it is pure fun. Also Mario Party 8 is a quality game, everyone keeps saying it is missing something. It isn't missing anything, it is the same game as mario party 1 and all they do is change the boards. And by the way whoever said that Mario Kart for the Wii is going to suck, must be missing some connections in their brain.
