The Wii has managed to skedaddle back on top, enjoying the comfortable cushion of the NPD throne. In resting its behind in the big chair, you can see the Wii made sure that the Xbox 360's time at the top was short-lived. Welcome back, Nintendo. We've missed you.

Hey I bet by Feb. that the Wii will also take that spot from the 360 for total units sold. Also people keep saying that the games for the Wii are not selling. I don't see this. Yes the numbers might be down but you have that with any game on any system. Also the games that get advertising has better sales since people know about the game. That is why I regret buying BWii. I think the game is good and it has great online play but not many people are playing it online since there was no advertising other than in gaming mags and online for it.

Why do people continue to buy WiiPlay at such an alarming rate?

Because it's essentially a $10 game once you subtract the cost of the controller and everyone needs a second controller.
Not only that, but if you are buying a bundle to get your Wii, the odds of WiiPlay being part of the bundle are great.

It's why the NUNCHUK is the best selling accessory for the most part. People buy Wii Play and need a second nunchuk for the pair.

That was exactly how I got my second set of controls. WiiPlay for the remote and then a nunchuk.

People should get Wii Play when they get the Wii. It's a cheeky party game, plus you get a controller with it. No, it's not an earth-shattering game. It's barely fun for the most part. But it fits best as a party game.
The Tanks game doesn't get old for me.

Wii Play is a no brainer purchase. The mini-games are decent (I love tanks and wife loves the pick mii one). Plus a controller to boot.

I've spent many an hour with a friend trying to beat the tank game on Wii play... well worth $10.
I think the reason we don't see a single game topping the game sales charts is because there's so much variety. There's just TONS of Wii games, whereas 360 owners get 1 good game per month if that.
