This week's issue of Famitsu has the scoop on Namco Bandai's new "ruin-exploration RPG," Fragile ~ Farewell Moon Ruins. Along with revealing that the game will be developed by tri-Crescendo (Baten Kaitos, Baten Kaitos Origins, and Eternal Sonata) and the Venus & Braves team, the Japanese magazine previewed Fragile with two pages of luxuriously purple screenshots and artwork. You can explore past the break for those.
Despite the protagonist's feminine features and outfit, the pictured character, Seto, is actually a boy. Fragile might still be in the early stages of development -- Seto has the same pose in every shot and combat scenes are noticeably absent -- but it really looks like it has a lot of potential. Hopefully, this game won't eventually bomb in Japan like Opoona did, and some publisher will feel motivated to bring this to the states.

Hopefully this game will be as good as the baten kaitos series, since the overall plot ideas were excellent. Just remove/replace the continuous turn based card battles with something more along the lines of a real time rpg battle.

Oh, I really like the look of this! I thought it was going to be a survival horror game or something. But RPGs are good :D

Looks like something Wii (and we) could definitely use
Although this game will probably have more incentive to be localized than Oopoona, Oopoona was just...wierd. This at least has its developers very strong legacy to help it out

The voice acting had better improve over the Baten Kaitos games... Makes Elebits sound Oscar worthy.

Any news on whether this will be ported to US/Europe/Other regions? Looks promising and I'd love a good RPG for the Wii. (Still trying to find the good GameCube RPG's - they're hard to find in a local retail store, used or new.)
