When we first heard that Japan got an exclusive song in their copies of DDR Hottest Party, we were peeved. Japan always gets the cool stuff, amirite? But after seeing a video of the song, that annoyance turned into relief. Think of all the money we saved in the hospital bills that we surely would have accrued when trying to move our legs in such an unnatural manner. The song is "Pluto the First" by White Wall, and it sounds like it would be a fun DDR song if it just wasn't so ... impossible. Are there people out there really this good at Dance Dance Revolution?

I'm fairly confident that I'd be able to pass that song. At first I thought it was going to be one of those gimmick songs with a ridiculous step chart, but it looked pretty fun.
Now if you want hard, check out some of the 13s on In the Groove. That is what true insanity is.

Cyantre's right. The timing of those stops and changes in pace would really bust my butt at first, but if I really worked at it, I'd be able to handle that one.
The most complex steps were on the slowest parts of the song, so as long as you don't panic. Basically, you just need to go through this one a couple dozen times to work out where all the changups are.
Provided this version still has training mode, you should be able to work on it and then go back and see where your problems are. Definitely not for casual first timers, but certainly a nice challenge for those of us who enjoy showing off.

I'm glad that I learned to play without speed mods, because some mixes don't have the option to change it.

I think it's pretty difficult, but it's not THAT hard, with a little practice and knowing the bpm changes, it's pretty simple. imho -__-
Anyway, Pump it UP! has more difficult songs than that. So, if there's people that does those PIU songs (like Chimera or FA Ep 2-2), that DDR song it's more easy than many people thought.

Wow, you all are crazy DDR players! Well done if a song like this doesn't even phase you. You have my respect, for sure :).

I'm lucky to keep up with standard mode on Flash Flash Revolution. I am absolutely befuddled by the ease with which DDR veterans can do this stuff.

Something that should be mentioned is that while Pluto The First is a Japanese Exclusive, this is actually a different (and easier) version of the song 'Pluto' which appeared in the arcade release of DDR Supernova 2.

A reasonably hard song. I can probably just pass it, it seems to be my limit. But really, compared to your average "In The Groove" game's expert song, this is a piece of cake.

I agree with the people who say this isn't supremely mind blowing, it's hard but the steps are okay, all you will need to know is the right tempo...

This song would be a lot more manageable at the crammed note sections with the "Boost" option turned on.
Possible on a controller after a 12 or so times, but a week or so to get anything close to an A on a dance pad, for me.

That's like a hard 9 with silly start-stops, oh noes POST VIDEO. Go watch one of the countless vids of people AAAing hard 10s. DDR isn't that hard if you just play a lot, it's not some kind of holy miracle to AAA hard songs.

Well, the point of the post was that the Japanese versions of the game have a song that U.S. versions don't, not, "Oh my God, look, a hard DDR song!"
Saying (apparently inconsequentially) that the song looked hard was just my opinion and observation.

ic -- the headline doesn't reflect your original point then, but glad you pointed it out anyway.
It's just annoying how people look at DDR as like "that's impossibllle" when it's just like any other videogame regarding practice being proportional to skill :P

So essentially they took Orion AMEuro and merged it with Orion civilization. Doesn't look too terribly hard.

1. The Japanese DDRHP appears to not have Tokyo Evolved, so it's not like they get more songs.
2. To everyone complaining that this song is too easy, let's see you pass it on Expert with Hand Motions on. Yeah I didn't think so.
3. How come almost nobody ever reviewed this game?? I thought it was pretty good! Sure not the hardest but the multiplayer options and hand motion options were great.

the hand motions in the wii version of the game add a whole different level of play...i usually turn them off *o*
tangent off of the real topic, but i guess this has already fallen off the wagon

you guys have a look at the video and it doesnt seem that hard, sure it looks hard but not impossible... thats what I thought.
if you try playing it like i did it is much harder than it looks, even if you did turn speed mods on it would be going at about 900bpm at 2x and thats damn fast.
