This has to be the shoddiest game poster ever -- it's just packed with incorrect info. Sure, there's a DS version of Assassin's Creed coming, eventually, but is it out now? No. But what's worse, as well as being a horrible, horrible tease, is that the poster also declares a Wii version. We're sure that Ubisoft is as surprised as we are, since the Wii is ... what was it? Oh, yes, only for casual games, regardless of those hours you've put into games like Metroid Prime 3 and Super Mario Galaxy, and the future hours you'll pour into games like No More Heroes.
But who knows -- maybe this is a portent of things to come. We'll keep our ears to the ground just in case someone decides to attempt to port Assassin's Creed over. After all, we need more ports.
Assassin's Creed where?

Wonder what company made that poster?
We know that its *Eventually* coming to the DS, but a Wii Version? That seems a little bit out of left field.
Unless of course its a Assassins Creed-based Minigame collection! WOO!
How many people can you stab in 30 seconds? GO!
Jump on ledges, but use the Wiimote to keep balance! GO!
Against Mario!
With SONIC!
I love my Wii, but I don't see this coming to my lovable console.

Any one else sick of companies not releasing ports on the Wii because of a bevy of excuses usually including things like the lack of technical/graphical power of the system or the lack of a more traditional control scheme (have they not seen a classic controller?) only to port/code a version of the same (or similar) game for the DS (which obviously is less powerful than the Wii and has a non-traditional control setup often marketed to the more casual market) or the PSP? Then, on the occasions when a game is ported to the Wii, it's often a rushed, poorly executed and/or a dumbed-down or "casual" version? You would think after over a decade of coding/designing almost every single console game made to utilize the same old dual-analog style input that software designers would be dying to design/program for something, anything new that allowed new ideas and new ways of thinking about the way people interface with games (such as the Wii and it's Wiimote & 'chuck). I've almost seen more creativity from the independant people using their computers and Wiimotes together as a hobby/for their own amusement than I have from big budget game studios and their proffesional coders. WTF, indeed. Rant concluded.

I couldnt agree more. Took the words right from me. To add to annoyances, when someone makes a sequel that will be huge, and puts it on a handheld (ex. Mother 3- if it ever comes to the States). So much potential to gather large audiences, then shunned with horrid excuses.

Profit. If it doen't turn a profit the companies aren't intrested in it then. Likewise about RPG sequels on handhelds but that's usually to *maximize* profits like in the case of Dragon Quest 9, where they put it on the DS since practically everyone in the country is playing on it.

OK, so this is a little far-fetched, but hear me out:
Last week it was announced that an unknown 3rd party was adapting the Unreal Engine 3 to the Wii for unspecified projects...maybe Ubisoft is going to be using it for a surprise port of Assassin's Creed?
Probably, most definitely, no-chance-in-hell likely, seeing as they built their own Scimitar Engine for the game, but it's a nice timing coincidence.
Just a thought...

About your comment on the Classic Controller. This is EXACTLY why I was hoping Ninty would add it in with the Console itself. Because now there's this thought amongst developers that "well, how many people actually purchased one on it's own? Best not to develop around that controller..." Which is why there isn't ONE game that exclusively uses it.
Look at Fire Emblem. They made sure that it would work with the Wiimote in addition to the C.C. just in case.....sad state of affairs.
