We can understand that first-party titles are most likely going to need to be directly overseen by Iwata or Miyamoto, but what about Metroid Prime 3? It was one of the Wii's biggest titles this year, why wouldn't Nintendo want to make more titles exclusively like it, geared toward the Western gamer? Well, Nintendo thinks that's what third-party developers are for.
George Harrison (is he even leaving anymore?) commented that "They're [third-party developers] doing a great job both on DS and on Wii. They tend to provide product in categories that we aren't particularly good at doing, like sports or other genres. And since they're Western publishers, they tend to be more in tune with Western tastes." So, for the time being, it looks like Nintendo's first-party development is going to stay confined to the Land of the Rising Fun.

That article had a huge flaw in it in that 'Super Mario Strikers' was made by next-level games, a canadian studio. It claimed 'Metroid 3' was the only western-developed game. Which is stupid. The whole thing is silly. Is Kuju not western and 'BWii' not a shooter just because they are UK and not US?

They've got Nintendo Software Technology and Retro Studios as wholly owned Western developers and Next Level Games and Kuju Entertainment as 2nd parties
EAD Development will remain in Japan (as it should) but Nintendo's first/second party development of western titles will by no means have to rest in the hands of 3rd parties

If any of their "Western" titles lack sales, its all because of Nintendo's lack of advertisement. I've yet to see a single ad regarding BWii.

The is George Harrison (is he even leaving anymore?) is kinda right.I mean seriously he said he was leaving when he trained his replacement.I am also beginning to wonder if Perrin Kaplan is even leaving.I mean her profile is still on Nintendo's Press Room as well as George Harrison's Profile as well. But Beth Llewelyn lefted Nintendo of America already.I am wondering why Perrin Kaplan and George Harrison have not lefted yet.As for the Wii it is doing well.But it is only CVG afterall.
