- Eternal Champions (Sega Genesis, 1 - 2 players, 800 Wii Points)
- ZANAC (NES, 1 player, 500 Wii Points)
- The Dynastic Hero (TurboGrafx 16 CD-ROM, 1 player, 800 Wii Points)
VC Monday Madness: Eternal Champions, ZANAC and The Dynastic Hero
Another Monday, another slew of new games to download on the Virtual Console. For most of you, the big title this week involves combat and bloodshed, as the Mortal Kombat wannabe Eternal Champions becomes available. The other two titles up for grabs aren't ones we have any personal experience with, to tell the truth.

Wow!! So SNK realized that releasing NEOGEO games on the Wii was a mistake.
I wouldn't rule out removing the NEOGEO games that are available now.

anyway, i just want to tell everyone to think twice if they're considering getting Eternal Champions. I got it back in the day, wanted it to be a great fighting game... and ended up HUGELY dissapointed. I don't know, maybe some people liked it, but i didn't, it's so bad compared to street fighter 2 gameplay-wise.

? What do you mean, just because a NeoGeo game wasn't released this week doesn't mean there wont be any more released...
I remember Eternal Champions being ok, but not as good as say Killer Instinct or MK2.

Wait a minute, a TG-16 game that's not a shooter? Inconceivable.

So this is how baseless rumors are started.
Going with that line of thought, Nintendo's also obviously never gonna release a SNES or N64 game on the VC ever again.
Anyway, somewhat more on topic.
Eternal Champions was good fun, especially the stage-specific fatalities you could perform. The SegaCD version was better though., having more characters, stages and better controls/gameplay.

Eternal Champions on Sega CD was the best version. It consisted of four different ways to kill your opponent, more expansive than the Genesis version. Loved it. It's still one of my favorite fighters of all time. Fatalities were:
1) Overkill - The background did the work
2) Vendetta - Some characters HATED each other and killed the other before the match started...SWEET
3) General fatility - Nothing special
4) Cinekills - Rendered 3D deaths of your player's worst nightmare. Outlaws were hung and assassins were assassinated with their own weaons. Only happened if you lost against the final boss...
Again, my favorite fighter ever! Please remake on the 360! Please!

I just want them to release Samurai Showdown. A game that was released in Japan over a month ago.
But they probably know that if they release it that no one will buy another VC game for months since Samurai Showdown is so great and will take up everyones time.
Or they are afraid that by releasing the game that the Wii shortages will get worse and riots may start which will bring bad press.

A couple of weeks ago, I started to find out info about this game to see if a game I've been thinking it was. I'm almost certain it is, so now that if on VC, I'll probably have to get it. And the fact that I have 800 points on my Wii works out perfectly. I have been waiting for Golden Eye though. When is that one going to be released?

Quite likely never, or not anytime soon. There's the difficulty of getting both the Bond license(or at least permission to use it) as well as Rare/Microsoft's permission for releasing it involved.
