Any gamer would need a heart of
blackened teak to
not have a soft spot for
Sega, and there's arguably no better home for a dyed-in-the-wool Sega fan than the Wii. Over the coming weeks and months, Nintendo's little white box will be hosting a number of updated classic Sega properties, including
NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams,
Samba De Amigo, and
House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return.
But our appetite for all things Sega is not yet sated! While we've
already asked you which
Saturn games you'd like to see on the Virtual Console, which Sega titles
in general do you want to see reinvented on the Wii? A motion-sensitive
Panzer Dragoon, the return of
Ulala, and a
Burning Rangers sequel top our list.

I'd love to see Bonanza Bros updated for modern times. That was my favourite Mega Drive game when I was a kid, and it remains so.

I owned both the Genesis and Super Nintendo, but apparently the latter had a much larger effect on me. The only Genesis game that I still remember and play is the original Sonic, and I'm not really interested in a remake considering where the franchise has been the last five years. In contrast, there's at least a dozen SNES games I'd be willing to pay for on the VC, and a few I'd love to see redone.

...darnit, I wasn't here for the Sega Saturn question.
So for the Sega Saturn: Guardian Heroes.
Because it was an awesome brawling-esque game. Period.
As for Sega in general... how about:
VECTORMAN!!!
Because he looked cool. Period.

They tried to remake Vectorman for next-gen consoles, however it died out because the game was crap. So I think it's best it stays 2D and on VC/Every other Genesis/Megadrive collection SEGA will churn out in the future.

Well, I was just talking about the VC...
But I wouldn't think it would just turn out like crap if you try to make it modern... I'm sure we could always give things a second shot, or third... or fourth....
Kinda depressing that people aren't listening to the players who know how to keep it classic, and even more depressing that the ones who know how to make it better aren't even trying to make it better.
... but I'll still say Guardian Heroes would be great on the VC... and possibly a Wii-system-version.

If nintendo bought Sega and re-branded themselves as Nintendo-Sega or even Nintega and worked on the wii2 (WIICast) together - how awesome would that be? They would blow the ps4 and the xbox 720 out of the water!!

Saturn? Lunar: Silver Star. I think the same version that appeared on the Saturn was the one that was ported to the PSone. I'd settle for the Sega CD version, but...
As for actual Sega properties, I wouldn't mind seeing an updated Toejam & Earl or Gunstar Heroes. Panzer Dragoon as long as it's not on rails.

I would love to see a Sequel to Beyond Oasis (they made a prequel for the Saturn called Legend of Oasis). That is by far my favorite game EVAR.

I think Jet Grind Radio should be reinvented for the Wii Balance board. You could skate on the board and spray paint using the Wii mote's B button.

I would definitely want to see a new vectorman. I played the first one so much in 7th grade that i was seeing the photon things spinning in my vision while I wasn't playing. It was definitely a little freaky, but the game was awesome.

The next iteration of Phantasy Star Online (preferably free this time, though that's not likely to happen) or even just a standalone Phantasy Star would be nice. It's still my favorite RPG universe by far.
Beyond that, maybe a Golden Axe or an Altered Beast revival. Altered Beast could be an interesting 3D-style game if done in a fighting style like Prince of Persia. *shrug*

I think a 3D Sidescrolling Vector Man would do well. Panzer Dragoon would be awesome! I loved the Sega Saturn, if only because the physical system was of such high build quality. The controller was good too. Dreamcast was fun, it's a shame it didn't catch on.
The problem with games like ToeJam & Earl would be making the transition to 3D. Most games don't make it. Mario did, because not only did it go 3D, but it matured and innovated the 3D space. Sonic didn't because it lost most of what Sonic was. (Fast, crude, attitude - it went to slow most of the time, talking to animals, went too soft, Dr. Robotnic to Eggman = worse name change ever)
Sonic on the Wii was enjoyable, but it's still not a proper Sonic game. The JetSet series would be a good fit. Samba, eh.. fun, but getting tired of music/rythem games.
Oh and DAAAAY TOHHHHH NAAAAAH
Lets go away :P

Hahaha! that damn daytona song was so catchy!
I would definitely love to see a new jet set on the Wii.
But at the end of the day, my heart burns for the conclusion of one of my favorite games of all time: Shenmue.
Hell, I'd take it on the DS if I had to. ;-;

I would love to see Comix Zone updated for the Wii. That was one of my favorite games on the Genesis. It should definitely be kept 2D though, since comics are ... ya know... 2D. Also, continuing the Shenmue saga would make me extremely happy, but I don't think we'll ever see it. And if we do it won't be on the Wii. Shenmue was all about being realistic and drawing you into the world. It'd be much better suited, and I can't believe I'm saying this, to the PS3. It's a game where how good it looks is nearly as important as how good it plays, in my opinion. Plus the Blu-Ray discs would allow for the sort of depth a Shenmue game needs, without needing multiple discs.

I agree. Shenmue deserves to be finished properly (regardless of what system, though it would be an excellent addition to the Wii library). Such a tragedy... :''(
In any case, Dreamcast + Wii = Yes.

I've been crying and whimpering for a proper Shining Force sequel or American release of Shining Force 3 for so long that I've gone and switched to Nintendo's Fire Emblem... which is great for strategy but short for heart :(

ToeJam & Earl would translate to Wii nicely, with its kooky semi-casual co-op adventure fun, as would Space Channel 5
Takashi Iizuka, however, hinted at a Burning Rangers remake, which would make the 3rd consecutive time i'd've shit myself about a Sega remake coming to Wii (after NiGHTS and Samba di Amigo)

Radiant SilverGun...I can't even imagine how much I would allow them to charge me if they could deliver it. Probably better suited to a disc-based remake, unfortunately.
The Genesis versions of CyberBall and pre-Live EA basketball games, I played the hell out of both. And no, the Cyberball on XBL is junk, its not nearly as fun as the Genesis version IMO.
