I personally think it may be a fun (and quiet) way to help shed that baby weight in the coming months, but since I can't see my feet at the moment, we'll have to see how things go when we get there!

I think I'll get it. The more recent videos have shown that Wii Fit could potentially be a really fun game.

Is there any official (or even rumored) release date for US at this point?

I'm going on a trip to New Mexico with the Boy Scouts in August. There will be a good amount of hiking. Maybe this will help me get in shape for it.

There is some chance that I'll get WiiFit. Depends on the price. I don't think it will be fun for more than two weeks. Hopefully, there will be more games supporting the WiiFit board. The skiing thing look really fun.

How can I squirrel away money for it when I don't know how much it will be or when it will be available in the U.S.?
I suppose it doesn't matter. My wife desperately wants one for the exact same reason Alisha does. I get to hold our daughter while the wife does Wii Yoga and Wii jogging through the park.

Probably. My wife will almost definitely love it and it intrigues me enough to want to get it. There's a good chance I probably will.

No I'm not getting fit. I think it's the worst idea Nintendo's had next to the Virtual Boy. Nintendo needs to stop focusing so much on the casual crowd and needs to do more things that will appeal to both the casual market and the more "hardcore" market.

Oh, you mean like giving us Brawl, Mario Kart and Disaster: Day of Crisis next year while the Expanded Audience types are only getting Wii Fit and probably Wii Music?

Nope. No way. I'm not buying some "fitness" game. I work out on my own, and I don't need a piece of software to tell me what to do.
Besides, I doubt it can *really* make a difference, anyway.

Yes I am getting it, but I'm not paying for it. I just told my parents it is made to make me work out (I don't exercise much) and they said they would get it for me. They are so gullible.

Depending on my amount of disposable income next year, I'll probably get one. I'd like to try some of the fitness things and the ability to track my weight could be worth it anyway.
Can you imagine what kind of statistics Nintendo will be able to gleam from this? "45% of Wii users are overweight, versus the industry average of 78%. The Wii is the healthiest console of this generation..."

I'll be getting it just to see how it does. Besides, who know what future titles might make use of it.

Pretty sure I'm ganna get it. I wana see what people say about how it works on plush carpet because so far I've only seen it used on hard floors. The idea is actually great... The board itself is cheap... Why not?

I was wondering about the carpet myself. I know the scale I have doesn't work on carpet. I'm hopeful that Nintendo is smarter than that.

If the board is modified somehow for the US market and supports up to 350lbs, I'd totally get it. I suppose I could try shedding 20lbs or so to comfortably get under the current limit but then I guess I wouldn't need the software at that point...
Anyway...it does look fun.

I'll probably get it just because as a Nintendo collector I buy every Nintendo peripheral. But I'll buy it second-hand so I don't give Nintendo any money and have them think that I actually want this sort of thing.

Getting it. Wife wants, and we have a kid here that needs to move is butt a bit. If it "tricks" him into doing it and loving it...its a win-win.
About the "more casual" moaners:
Hiya, Youngblood. Guess what? The numbers speaketh. There are more of "them" out there to extract money from...and a lot of former "us" types comin' on back into the fld.
There was a whole different culture to gaming before Sony, kids. Gaming was in people's *living rooms* as opposed to sme kids bedroom or basement.
Actual *live people* would come to your house *in real life* and *together* everyone would have a blast.
Gaming was on Saturday Morning TV...in bars where Dad went after work and in the supermarket for you to have something to do while Mom shopped.
Gaming was *everywhere* until Sony "testosterone marketing" and developers that worshipped at "The Church of iD" drove it out of the mainstream.
Regular people just aren't into "Yet Another Quake Derivative".
Its OK. I hear they got Halo, Quake, Unreal Tourney. Call o' Duty and GTAs planned until their current market starts collecting Social Security ;)
Rock On....Rock On.

No, I won't be buying, at least at the MSRP. When it's down to $30-$40, maybe, if that ever happens. I don't need any more 'exercise', and even though there's a ton of minigames, it's still minigames. I do expect Wii Fit to sell well, though.

i may get it. It looks like an interesting concept, and I'd like to see how other games could expand on it. Wii Fit itself, however, looks a little subpar. But depending on reviews/pricing, there's a decent chance I'll get it eventually.

I'm undecided at the moment. I had no interest in Wii Sports and when I heard it would be bundled I was annoyed. Buuut, I enjoyed Wii Sports, so who knows.
