If only we had access to our notebooks from back in school, when our fascination for gaming was scribbled in the margins of every single page, whether it be Algebra homework or the cafeteria menu for the month. Oh, to be a young boy again, with not a single care but how high of a score we could achieve in Super Mario Bros. 3.Thankfully, through the efforts of deviantART user Themrock, we can do just that. Sitting here and staring at the deviantART user's inspired pieces of fanart causes us to swell with nostalgia and reminisce about those times when our only responsibility to ourselves was to play games, not just write about them.

No offense, I'm just speaking my mind, but personally, I don't see the point to entries like this one. Okay, so someone drew a picture of Mario and uploaded it. It's not really important in any sense that I can think of. There seem to be a lot of entries here where other websites, such as YouTube, will vaguely mention Nintendo or Mario or something related to that, and it will be posted here. I would prefer more news-like entries.

This goes fan stuff. We're on a Fanboy site. Make the connection or do you need some duct tape?

I understand, but I also go to PS3/PSP Fanboy, and they don't have as much as this kind of stuff in comparison. I understand the "fan" in "fanboy," but I go to these websites for news. I mean, these kinds of entries could keep being posted, and it wouldn't be the end of anything, but I just think it's a little... much. Type Mario in Google Images and find anything like this, you know?

linebeginstoblur, they're just trying to lighten the mood and bring you something with a bit of nostalgic value about it. Who knows, someone might get a kick out of remembering their gaming pasts. It might not be for you, but you were the one who read it. Lighten up.

You raise a good point. I just over to PS3 Fanboy and there is a serious lack of posts that reflect a fanboy nature. They seem too interested in reporting games I've never heard of and don't look fun.
Well if that's all they have then good luck to them. Being a PS3 fanboy must be tough right now with nothing good except a few games on the horizon.

Thousand percent agree with Linebeginstoblur. I chalk it up to the lack of news on the Wii front, whereas there's always something new and at least vaguely exciting going on at PS3fanboy. All you hear on here is "Wii sales still crazy" and "Weekly fan video to remind us of 1992 and strengthen our nostalgia bone", and the only real news is "Wii getting low-profile, imported cult PS2 game you know nothing about -- GET PUMPED FOR IT".
I have both systems and a couple blogs, so i'm very aware of this. It's just way more exciting to be a PS3 owner these days. Shit actually happens on that console.

Since when does anything happen on the PS3 besides the dashboard? Oh wait, Rock Band with broken guitars and no GH3 guitar support...
Sorry, the Wii is a fun time console, so is remembering when all I had to worry about was going to school and waiting to get home and play a game. If you think PS3 fanboy and such has better news, simply stop reading and commenting on Wii fanboy. Just because you see something you don't like doesn't mean you're important enough to have to complain about it trying to justify your purchase of another console.

What the hell is all this about? I enjoy reading news of the Wii, I just think that a few of the posts are a bit silly, but this is not to say that, even then, I dislike any part of this. I only said that I prefer the other ones, meaning I like them more than I like these. I just thought I'd throw my two cents in. That's what comments are for. I thought that people are free to speak their minds. Apparently, you think that people should only speak as long as they agree with you.
What's going on in news of the PS3 is not relevant in this discussion. There is plenty of news going on there, just as there is with the Wii, and all I was trying to say is that I prefer news stories over stories that don't have much meat to them. Again, I'm so sorry for wanting to share my opinion. I guess only yours should count, right?
Also, just because YOU see a comment that YOU don't like doesn't mean YOU are important enough to have to complain about it. Bringing up the fact that I own a PS3 and making up lies that I'm just some angry person because of my purchase is extremely rude of you. I am going to copy and paste the very first part of my first comment back to you, "No offense, I'm just speaking my mind..." I was only comparing news websites. For you to bring up the PS3 as a console, especially to insult it and me, was extremely uncalled for and insulting it shows just how closed-minded you really are.

It always makes me pause when people declare that Wii has nothing exciting on it's horizon. I've never been one to own large amounts of games for any console, but I already have 9 for Wii and there's tons coming up I'm excited about. I think when people say there's nothing, they mean that Wii's library isn't made up of violent First Person Shooters.. and Sci-Fi First Person Shooters.. and WWII First Person Shooters. Unlike the other two consoles, Wii has variety. That's why I own one, and that's why I'm here.

Linebeginstoblur I wasn't replying with you, I was directly responding to the post above mine. There's nothing wrong with sharing your opinion, but Rollin basically calls Wii fanboy a worthless waste of the internet because it's not about the PS3.

Ha. Yea, worthless waste of internet space. Just because i typed "PS3Fanboy" somewhere in that comment. Your math is terrible.
Like the guy said, this is about the websites. But i made the connection between the sites and the subject they each cover, because they're forced to write about what's going on, and you can see which one has more to report when you stand them side by side. Therefore, the PS3 is relevant to this, especially since you mentioned PS3F, Linebegins. Blogs write about what's happening with the subject of their passion. Bookmark both sites' feeds, then look at the headlines for each feed. They contrast greatly. (You can also just skim the front pages of each.)
Since the PS3's existence is so bothersome to you that some of you guys resort to weak cheap shots as knee-jerk reactions, do the same with WiiFanboy and DSFanboy -- same deal. Wii stories on this site largely break down in 3 ways these days: hardware/controller(zapper) knockoffs, a data post (weekly sales and sales comparisons), and Dojo updates. The rest is something fanmade, and the endless barrage of survey and video posts that Weblogs, Inc needs of all the Fanboy sites to fill their daily post quota. You can blame it on Wii being new, but then revert back to PS3Fanboy.
And that's great that you feel strongly enough about this blog to defend a criticism that wasn't even so derisive, hellvect. But if commenting on something that we "aren't forced to read" were such a problem, the editors would delete our comments. And they don't because they like to know all the opinions of the visitors, not just your commending. Don't make yourself feel important by telling others that their thoughts aren't.
I (and i assume Linebegins, and others) keep looking at this site because we like our Wiis and hope that something exciting happens with it occassionaly.
