The Vii now has some real competition in the knockoffware market. ENG Electric Co., a Taiwanese company, plans to introduce a new console called the Winner, which combines the best aspects of both the PlayStation 3 and the Wii in a package that is less expensive than either. That is, if the best aspect of the PS3 is the shape of the console, and the best aspect of the Wii is the shape of the controller.
The Winner boasts karaoke and media-playing functions, and includes an SDHC slot for media storage. Apparently it also features motion-sensing in its Winnermote, and online gameplay capabilities. "Best" of all, ENG plans to push this console in the American and Japanese markets, at a price between $120 and $150. Look for it at mall kiosks soon!

So, when is Weblogs going to start up the ViiFanboy and the WinnerFanboy sites? I can see holding off on the Vii for now, but Winner has already stated that they'll be in the US, so I would think that Weblogs would want to get in on the ground floor.

Is that a photoshop or does that console read "Winner"?
That is beyond greatness.
That guys expression screams "Winner", or constipation.
Either way he deserves the monies he's inevitably going to make.

because sony is the worst company in the world! seriously, they said they removed the ps2 chips from ps3 to save costs but the ps3 costs more (with exchange rates factored) in the uk than anywhere else in the world. sucks man. i'm really sorry!

Might I ask what you base that assessment on? How is the PS3 worth only $199 USD when one cannot get a standalone blu-ray player for that price?
The PS3 is far more expensive in the Philippines and noticeably more expensive in Norway and Australia. And if you take a close look, you'll notice that all the consoles are more expensive (and Sony reduced the price of the PS3 in Canada because the Canadian and US Dollar are now on par, Nintendo and Microsoft have done no such thing). Import fees and exchange rates usually don't help prices and are the primary cause of inflated electronics prices in many countries. All three consoles could be a little cheaper in the UK and many other nations (particularly those in Europe) but only to a degree. Hell, the games themselves are more expensive in Japan than their equivalents in the US. Both of you should consider than neither of you live in Brazil where foreign electronics are multiplied in price and the Wii costs the equivalent of $1100 USD.

Well, it is barely worth $199 because blue-ray is an overpriced crappy format. You might not be able to find a blue-ray player for that price, but you can sure find an HD-DVD player for that price, and HD-DVD is way more mainstream consumer friendly. Plus, the PS3 STILL doesn't have any games worth buying that aren't available for and look better on the 360.
I am glad, however, that my Wii didn't cost me $1100. That sucks.

What's with the PS3 hating? The PS3 is a great system, it just costs more because it offers more. You may think that the extra things it offers aren't important to you, and that's perfectly fine, but that doesn't mean it's a bad system in any sense. I laugh when people say that Sony is a bad company, because they're doing nothing wrong. Removing PS2 support, I believe, is an option. I don't think there are any regions where the only SKU available is the one without PS2 emulation. Also, the PS3 not only plays Blu-ray Discs, but SACDs and DVDs, while the Wii can't play any movies. I'm not saying that it's a necessary feature, but this, along with other features (like a hard drive and HD graphics), adds money, so if the Wii is only $250, obviously the PS3 would be more. The PS3 is actually quite underpriced when you think about all it offers, it's just a matter of what you want out of your video game system.
Again, I'm NOT saying that either system is better than the other. I'm just saying that they both have ups and downs and neither Nintendo nor Sony are bad companies, nor do they make bad systems. Can't we all just get along? :)

I disagree heavily with PS3-haters when they put the PS3's capabilities up to question.
I am heavily FOR the idea that Sony sucks because most superfans and the heads of the Sony are mostly @$$holes. ... they disgust me.
The PS3 is a powerful system... lots of potential... but they kinda' went a bit far with all the additions so suddenly... Not too smart to charge so much in one blow. But it's kinda' understandable.
In my heart, yes, the Wii does win.
PS3 is awesome, but not enough great games. Xbox360 has a LOT of great games, and a solid system! But-- the Wii just feels much more lovable and has better promise for the future of video games.
Simply put, the PS3 is the rich (and annoying) neighbor who's kinda' cool if you get to know him, the Xbox 360 is your cool uncle... and the Wii? The Wii's like your little cousin who has a lot of potential in him. You really think he's gonna' make a difference.

Cool, the knockoffs are getting out of control. Now, all we need is a 360 looking knockoff (I call it... the FBOX180!) and we can have all three "consoles!" I'll wait until the fanboys create a site for the Vii or Winner or the 180 to buy one, though.
