When the game was revealed, we quickly replied with a "meh," anticipating the title would not arrive on our beloved Wii system (Capcom loves that 360 thing). Sure enough, it was only going to arrive on the other current-gen systems. But, times change and apparently Capcom could be open to changing the game up a tad and fitting it for the Wii. That is, if you all want it.
And, after watching the game's hero whip things, we have come to the conclusion that we want the game. The reticle aiming and whipping action looks like it would be a perfect match for the Wii's control scheme. Of course, should the game turn out to be bad, we'll be kicking ourselves for making such a stink about the whole thing.
What do you all think? Would you play the game, or could you not care less?

I want the original Bionic Commando on VC.
That's what I'd really like. :D
While I love the Wii, I have to admit I can't really see the game on the Wii, but then again Capcom is doing very well so far with pushing higher end graphics on the Wii. So maybe they are saying this because they've done some benchmarking to see how it'd run on the Wii already.

I think it could work on Wii. No Spiderman waggle stuff but you do almost the same as in the ยด360 version you where you like to shoot out your arm.
And it can be realy good game like you how you throw stuff in elebit (U.S) eleedes ( Euro) it turned out realy good.
I only hope that if they make the game they will make more realistic like RE4 and not the kiddy collerfull version.

I watched the video linked in the post.
Sadly, this game is emblematic of all these tired, boring and overly complex titles which sending the games industry into another crash before the DS and Wii came along.
The original Bionic Commando was neat. This game looks like every other sloppy action title that fills the Xbox wall at the game store. Uneven framerate and unclear goals in a gritty, post-apocalyptic setting! Yawn.

You can't really mean that. I'm by no means anti-Wii, I actually just found one a few days ago, but the games industry wasn't going into a crash before the DS and Wii came along, it was doing better than it had done for years. The DS and Wii have sold well primarily because they've found new audiences and have appealing "gimmicks". Even Nintendo have never said that they "saved" the games industry, it's just a moronic myth made up by bitter fanboys trying to justify their purchases.

I'm not thrilled about some of the videos, either, but let's wait until the game is a little further along to judge its frame rate ...

I'm reserving judgment until I see any footage that doesn't look like a pre-alpha tech demo. I have the feeling that at this point that ten-second stretch of "run around a corner, grab a dumpster, throw it at a guy" is the longest completed gameplay they have ready.
That said, I'd buy the Wii version over the 360 if and only if the controls played out better. That would probably mean pointer aiming -- I haven't seen it done right with a 3rd-person adventure, but as well as it works in FPSes like MP3 and RE4, I have to imagine it can be done. Otherwise, I'd probably take the better graphics and possibility of DLC that come with the 360 -- or skip it altogether (though that's unlikely: BC was my all-time favorite NES game).

Last time I checked, RE4 was a third person title.
Unless you're playing some version I've never heard of...

I have a PS3, but I'd buy the Wii version in a second if the controls are tight.

I liked the demos at CES, and I currently only own a Wii so if they brought it out for all consoles I'd get it on Wii.

I'd want it on the Wii just to see how well a downscaled PS360 game would look on the Wii, the controls could also be used well witht he whip being used similr to MP3 , that and the Wii is in desperate need of a gritty, Uneven framerate and unclear goals in a post-apocalyptic setting type game...I mean how many does the Wii have? lucky to have 3! yet it fills like 70% of the 360 games....

i for one would enjoy this game on the wii. capcom has been a great supporter of the wii, n love the new look of bionic commando or not, when i watched the trailer i could only see myself using the wii mote to throw objects n whip guys to death. that being said, go to capcom unity to post ur support for a wii edition. n even if u dont want to buy it still support it because the wii needs more core games coming from publishers.

how about we all wait and see what the finished version of thatgame loks and more importatnly plays like. if its a heap of dung then you know what no loss there but if its actually quite good then we can anoy them to get a wii version too!
Id love to see the origional on the VC along with so many other games too.
Remeber the odds are stacked againstthem to make a very good game out of this, when looking at alot of thebig named games that have come out recently which havent had the best of reviews.

I'd rather have a DS sequel (ala Contra4) to the original since they never gave us a 16bit one.

The more hard core games the wii can get the better. Besides that, if it gets enough hype and sells enough, the Wii can really become a place for decent FPS's (As of now, 2 isn't enough).

I felt betrayed when they said this wouldn't be on the Wii.
The original was one of the best NES games; perhaps one of the best games ever. With a third dimension and Wiimote, it would be even better. And honestly I'm not sure if it would be interesting enough to buy on a ps3 or 360.
Where's the petition? I'll sign.
I especially hope to blow up Hitler's face again in the new game.
