Previously, you had to call Activision in order to pre-register for a replacement Guitar Hero III disc (one containing Dolby Pro Logic II, that is). All you phone-o-phobics can rest easy, though, as the company has finally enabled online pre-registration. Owners of the Wii edition of Guitar Hero can now fill out this form, which will ensure an email and disc replacement package when the new discs are available. Activision explains on the online form how the replacement process will work, but still gives the vague date of "early 2008" for the discs to be ready.

How so? I'm a "phone-o-phobic" myself. The whole point of this post is for people who don't want to call Activision on the phone. So how is it in any way offensive?

First off it's offensive because of the way they carelessly joke about phone-o-phobics as if they don't exist and secondly I was just kidding

So, will there be a reissue of the game? Like, this is the only reason why I've waited to pick it up, was for them to fix this issue. Hopefully they aren't just sending out replacement disks to people who have already bought the game.

What a bunch of crap. Let's take away your Guitar Hero disc for over a week until we receive it and send it back to you (even though it's their fault for shipping crappy discs in the first place).
First they don't sell a second guitar (until NEXT MONTH), now this? Activision is going to run the Wii version into the ground.

I am pissed. I have to actually send them my crappy disc to wait with no Guitar Hero for a week or two? What do they think I'm going to do? Give it away or sell it? "Here, have my Guitar Hero with MONO SOUND. By the way, you don't have a guitar controller, so it'll feel pointless to play. Enjoy."
No spare guitars for sale yet, the unfulfilled promise of EVENTUAL downloadable content for the Wii version... yeah, I'm really starting to hate Activision. Wish I had Rock Band to rely on, where's our Wii version of that? Oh yeah, went from "absolutely" to "no plans at all" to "who gives a f#ck"!
Sorry. I'm done.

I'll throw in my 2c saying I play guitar hero probably every other day if not every day for a few songs at a time.. GH3 is my first and I've gone from easy to expert since release. Going weeks without the game is really going to make me a sad panda.

I have to be without Guitar Hero until they decide to turn my order around? What if there's a mistake? What if it gets lost in shipping? They should be sending me the replacement disk first, and then charging my credit card if I fail to return the monaural one within, like, a month or something. This is pretty much bullshit.

Here's hoping that they throw some extra features in while they are at it (DL-able tracks for one....or even better, maybe some sort of custom track function.) I wish I understood more about programming, so I could join in the debug fun.

For a typical game I could see why they would want you to send in your disc before sending out a replacement, but since the game is useless without the guitar, I really don't see the need.

So in order to get what I thought I was buying in the first place I have to give up my current disc for what could be a week or more?
Bad customer service.

The package to receive the replacement disc arrived in the mail today. You have until 31 Aug to get a replacement. BUT don't mail the original after 31 Aug, if you do you don't get the new disc and they do not return the old either. Yikes.

Sent mine out the 2/18 from CT, received an email 2/27 stating they had received the disc, and received another email 3/4 stating they had sent it out 2/29. I received the 2nd email and the disc the same day.

I sent my disc in on 2/19 from WI, I have not received a confirmation that they received the disc. Nor have I received my replacement disc. I've sent Activision a message indicating so as well as attaching a image of my disc and packing material of what I sent.
Being April 3rd, I think it's a little long to have not received my replacement.
