Dojo update: Distant Planet
We've already been introduced to Olimar and his Pikmin buddies and shown the kind of stuff they can pull off when working together, so today's update focuses on Olimar's stage. Predictably enough, it's the very same planet that the intrepid astronaut was forced to make an emergency landing on in the Pikmin games. It comes complete with Onions that will produce items if you throw a numbered Pellet into them, as well as some pretty inclement weather. And if you're wondering what Onions and Pellets are, we advise you go hunt down a copy of Pikmin or Pikmin 2. No, seriously, do -- you won't regret it for a moment.
Incidentally, taunting a Bulborb many times your size by standing on its snout is not wise.

Cool looking stage for sure. All the plant life really makes it stand out from the bunch. And I'll start off the train here...
WTF? No character announcement to go with the delay?!

I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned in the post, but Brawl got delayed until March 9. So get your swear jars ready when you tell your friends, so you can earn enough money for another game between now and then.
Incidentally, No More Heroes might stand a chance now. So at least that's still awesome.

I had a little freakout when they announced Olimar. I'm having a slightly bigger one now.

I have an impromptu poll:
How long do you think Dojo posts will continue at this odd juncture? My bet is that we're looking at 3 more this week, a full 5 next week, and then it will end
They did a good job capturing Pikmin's unique artistic style

Doesn't anybody realize the distant planet is Earth!? At the end of Pikmin 1, if you get all the parts, you see Earth when you see the Pikmin's faces.
In Pikmin 2, you collect treasures like batteries and popcaps, and the globes you collect are Earth. Olimar is probably less than an inch tall.

SPOILER ALERT!
That's true. The update even hinted that but said for now let's call it Distant Planet.
