Dojo update: Another character unveiled!
Oh. It's ... Sheik. Everybody back to work! We're sorry, but you'll have to forgive our lack of surprise. You see, we already discovered that Zelda's tomboy alter ego would be appearing in Brawl.
Nevertheless, we did learn some new tidbits from today's dojo update. For example, we now know that swapping between Zelda to Sheik is dead easy -- it's allocated to the down special move -- and that there are benefits to using both. Apparently, the two are completely unique characters, and comparing Sheik's moveset with Zelda's proves this to be true.
Finally, if you're wondering where Sakurai and his team took the design for a Twilight Princess-era Sheik from (you'll recall that she doesn't appear in the game), it's taken from a bit of concept art that was drafted up during development. So now you know: at one point, Nintendo was kinda thinking about including Sheik in Twilight Princess, but never got around to doing so.

Um, before I say anything, I apologize to Chris in advance for being a technicality Nazi. I'm not trying to show you up, believe me, and I'm sorry for pointing this out already.
Um... Sheik still transforms to Zelda and vice versa by using her B-Down move, not the control pad? So.... so yeah, now I feel ridiculous.
Oh hey, um.... a thing! http://youtube.com/watch?v=FiARsQSlzDc

Thank goodness. I was like, "what, can Zelda not go down through platforms anymore like the other characters?".

GOOD INFORMATION GET!
Seriously, that's awesome. I actually went through the pages and learned some new stuff about the moves. Bowser has a new B-Foward, for example. Thanks for the pro-tip, Hvnlysoldr!

I presumed they wouldn't be going with Sheik, since this is Twilight Princess Zelda, not OoT Zelda, but i suppose they figured Sheik was an integral part of the Zelda-user's technique, and could not be removed
I believe that thing on the back of her hip is a dagger of some sort, which would be a boon. I felt she needed more real weapons. The chain was alright, but the Bo Needles were lame

Why?
The Bo Needles could actually STOP Samus' full charged-shot... it could also stop enemy projectiles (anything from fireballs or items) from hitting you at all...
...it was also useful for stunning an enemy in mid-air when he/she's trying to grab onto a ledge from far away.

Not denying that they had their uses (everything in that game did, except Goldeen), but i meant "lame" in the vein of "boring"
They could have come up with a cooler weapon, and this neat little long dagger might do the trick

The chain was good for lulz, but was really terrible.

I'm suprised this website hasn't written about it yet, but Brawl has been delayed until March 9th, for those who didn't know yet.

Am I the only one who never liked Sheik? I mean yeah, being a Princess who can defend herself is one thing. Dressing up as the Alter Ego Ninja like Batman is another...
Oh well, Bruce Wayne was a millionare Playboy and was concidered "financial royalty" like a Trump would be concidered.... Guess this would seem equally ludicris by comparison.

Did anyone else notice that they tweaked her design to make it look more like a girl (aka she has lost her pecs and gained two other things...) I guess casaul western gamers can't deal with Zelda actually changing genders.

Those are still pecks; it's just the angle of one of the screenshots. I mean it makes sense that the Triforce of Wisdom turns you into a man =p

Someone needs to punch the head developer in the face! 3 delays is uncalled for! That is madness, we should have been brawling for 2 months now, but no, these stupid delays just keep coming. I'm a bit worried that they will never get the game out, after all, this is RIDICULOUS. If they can't fix it, then they need to rethink their planning and plan for more times on games. We've seen screenshots of the game in action, so we know the game engine, characters, items, menus...pretty much near everything is READY...SO WHAT IS THE HOLDUP! Come on Nintendo, get to work, instead of delays, how about PROGRESS!

She's viewtiful! What a difference between Melee Sheik and Brawl Sheik. Goodness. I must admit, I never really tried using her in Melee, but with this new look and moveset I'm much more excited to try her/Zelda out.
