We were tooling around on the Virtual Console this evening while not really paying attention, and in the midst of the multitasking, the realization hit that everyone in the room was really into the Wii Shop channel music. We're talking bobbing heads, humming softly, the works. It's really catchy for something so unendingly cheerful, but maybe we just hear it a lot around here. It's grown on us. But it inspired us to ask how you felt about the various random tunes that pour out of your Wii. Do you hate the menu music, or do you secretly rock out to it (in a gentle, cheery fashion, of course)?Wii Warm Up: Wii menu music

The Shop Channel music always gets stuck in my head, but the other GUI music is boring, to say the least
Now Radiant Dawn, there's a game with some stirring music

When we opened up our Wii box, got it all setup and checked out the Wii shop channel, my 2 year old son immediately started dancing to the music. Now when we head to that channel and he is on the other side of the room, once he hears the music he comes running over to dance.

I love the quirky, funky elevator music on all of the channels.
I found a site a few months back that had all of the channels musical scores available, and I have them here on my iBook so I can get my cheeriness up when 'The Man' gets me down. The Mii channel's music does the trick most of the time...but The Shop's music is by far the catchiest.

I love all the Wii music but, I wish I had all of it. I have a lot of music from Wii sports but, none from the Wii shop channel. My Mom thinks its just bland elevator music but, sometimes I will bring up a channel just to listen to the music.

Anyone on here who has fruity loops? Hypothetical mission for anyone who does: remix the wii shop music.

I really like 'Photo Channel - Slideshow (Scenic)'. I admit to sometimes starting the photochannel just to listen to that track.

Big-N did a great job on most of the tunes to make them easy on the ears even after you've heard them hundreds of times. And yes the Wii Shop music is elevator music ... but it really grooves.

My father hates the Wii Menu music because it annoys him. He always makes me turn the sound off when he's in the same room.

That's one of my favorite Nintendo songs of all time.
Sometimes... when I can't sleep I put the channel start page on and just listen to the song with my surround sound on... and I go out like a light.

Sorry but no, I'm not too into muzak.
I'm more of a Tom Waits fan so if I'm hearing non offensive background music, I prefer something with a little more bass. Or any bass for that matter.
The wii music sounds like it was composed by a blind over exhausted/crashing raver with a broken vibraphone and a poor memory.
No wonder popular music keeps getting worse, it's just reflecting people's tastes and lack thereof .

To be honest, i don't think its fair to suggest that the menu screen music is in anyway realted to falling standards in commercial pop music.
Anything lyrical or too contemporary would grate the skin off your ears within a week! I like what they've done with it, the nerdy muzak is in fitting with the nintendo image anyway i think, goofy and endearing.
I particuarly like the weather channel at night time, i also snooze to that. A guilty pleasure - I'm glad im not the only one. Has anyone else noticed that it can be relaxing just using the left and right buttons to flick through the news stories/ weather reports? Each direction is accompanied by a suitable tone, tuned to the music. Sometimes its the smaller details that make a difference to how you appreciate something.
Anyway wii muzak fanboydom aside, I have noticed is that my quite a lot louder than anything else plugged into my telly. I have to have the volume on pretty low or it blasts out!

The Wii shop channel might be my least favorite music.
My ABSOLUTE favorite would be the background noise when a system update is downloading.

Search helps. Unfortunately, the site I found back then has been taken down. I would Google it as I'm sure the MP3s are still out there, but of course anything with the words "Wii" and "music" returns sites about "Wii Music" and "MP3" returns "Metroid Prime 3". Good luck.

i love all the music. the shop channel music sounds VERY reminiscent of sims music to me (like some of the old stuff on buy mode) and i'm a huge sims fan so i tend to like it.
the news channel intro (like when you just click on the channel) is kinda funny...sounds like nintendo's version of a "FOX NEWS ALERT!" or something.
weather channel music is nice and peaceful....although i'm rarely on that channel since the weather doesn't seem to be very accurate.
i also love all the check mii out music (and the graphics, very pretty stuff).
