Awesome news for people who love 8-bit games, or just wonderful things: Sega Master System games will be offered on the Japanese Virtual Console starting in February, with other territories to follow. It looks like the base price for games will be 500 points, with the customary 100 tacked on for licenses. Sega Mark III games and even Game Gear games will be offered for download -- marking the first handheld games available through the VC, all thanks to the Game Gear and the Master System using identical hardware. The first two offerings? Fist of the North Star for 600 points (yay?) and Fantasy Zone for 500 points (yay!) Neither Nintendo nor Sega have updated their Virtual Console pages to reflect this development, so we'll get to freak out again when that happens. For now we can just dream about what the future holds. Remember ALF? He could be back -- in Virtual Console form.

PS is great, but in case you don't recall it's not really worth going through, haha. I think it'll be one of those games like 1/100 downloaders finishes.
Alex Kidd! -- I wish I hadn't bought Miracle World for $15 last fall now.

Dungeon crawling in Phantasy Star 1 made me into a professional cartographer. I always had my stack of graphing paper right next to me every time I was playing. It was a ton of fun.

Aleste/Power Strike I and II !!!
And though there might be some licensing issues, I also hope for some Disney games (Perhaps hard to believe for some younger gamers, but back when Sega, Capcom and Konami took care of making cartoon based games, they actually turned out great)

Eh, I'd be more excited about this if Nintendo was actually releasing 3-4 games a week in the US. Instead, we are getting 1-2 games a week here. I can't excited about 1 game a week, 2 games a week.
Even when we get the Sega games here, at a rate of 1 or 2 games a week, it's going to take years before Nintendo finally gets to the Sega Master System games that I'd actually want, like Penguin Land and Quartet.

Oh man do you guys think they'll put Ninja Gaiden SMS on there? It only came out in Europe and was made by Sega (loaned from Tecmo) If they'd put that, Golden Axe Warrior, Shinobi and Cyber Shinobi I'd be so happy I'd crap my pants!
