Japan isn't getting Metroid Prime 3: Corruption until March, but Nintendo is making up for it (in a gameplay-insignificant way) by releasing the game with a boxart that looks nothing like Sonic Adventure 2's. We're not complaining about the tri-Samused American boxart, just stating that the Japanese boxart is quite nice -- the kind of thing we wouldn't mind having on a poster. The color scheme is unique among Metroid games, as is the decision to feature some characters that aren't Samus. This (arbitrary) Boxart Victory is even sweeter for Japanese Nintendo fans, who have been subjected to some fairly rough Metroid Prime series boxarts.

Dammit that's about 8x better than the US boxart. Lame.

Looks very good for an action game boxart.
But it also looks rather odd for a Metroid game, even when considering that Prime 3 was more of action game than any Metroid game before. The latter goes for the US/EU boxart as well.

I have this sinking feeling that this game will tank sales wise over there. Tank like a new 360 sku! ZING!

I'm sure I am in the minority, but I prefer the US boxart... by a lot.

i agree, this japanese boxart is the best that Japan has received from the Metroid series, however, i too enjoy the US boxart a bit more, it actually incorporates the theme of the game plus the japanese boxart gives me the feeling of pretty much the same cover as the first prime game with the other characters added into the background

I actually think the Japanese box art is really ugly. The US box art matches the feel of Metroid a bit more I think.

God I hope theres a version of this with out the logos and writing. I printed off the other box art as a poster and it's pretty damn awesome.
For those of you who like it better than ours, you could just print this one off and slip it over the pic on the US/PAL box.

It's about time Japan got some nice Metroid box art instead of the absolute crap they've been receiving thus far. I don't mind taking an average one so they can get something awesome.

I like the U.S. one better. The game centers much much more around Samus's struggle than the other hunters with the brief appearances of Dark Samus throughout. The U.S. box art reflects that better than the Japanese box art, in my opinion.
On a slightly different subject, I never knew that Japan hadn't gotten MP3C yet. It seems that Japan gets first dibs on big releases usually.

The color is gorgeous! It'll definitely look great on a shelf. I don't like all the characters there though, it's not in the Metroid tradition. But I'm sure Japan will be happy simply because they will not be getting another zoomed in picture of only Samus on the cover. Lol, I thought the first 2 Japanese Prime covers looked like carbon copies of each other :P
