I don't know what kind of reaction I should have to Luigi's Final Smash.
Anyway, I really thought the Final Smashes would be a lot stronger. It's probably better that they're not freakishly overpowered, though.

Was Falco a joke? Fox/Falco/Star Wolf seem to have the same final smash... thats lame.
Zelda and Sheik also ahve the same final smash, while Samus and Zero Suit Samus dont....
Toon Link also has the same final smash as link...
I am dying for thsiu game, but this sadened me a bit...........

It's perfectly possible for Sheik to still have a bow. With her power suit gone, however, Samus can't exactly use her "normal" final smash. That's a pretty good explanation, I believe. And the Star Fox guys still have different ones. Fox's is just a normal barrage, Falco's is utilizing the Landmaster's hover ability, and Wolf's is just decimating. So they may be similar, but they're different enough to throw someone who's good with one into a loop.

There was a few to many 1 hit KOs there and a few underpowered ones. Peach FS was'nt all bad, free health + damage + sleep.
Luigis gets a mention for looking awesome, i liked DKs music :D
Falcos tank boosts high for KOs wolfs rolls for KOs and foxs shoots for KOs?
I can't for this game....even more so.

The first thing I noticed was how nice and fluid some of the animations seem to be. Like at 1:25, when Bowser is falling off the edge, it looks really good.
Next, I noticed that some of them are really underpowered compared to others. Notable, Jigglypuff's. If you are able to get back up, you recieve no damage. Same thing with Ness and Lucas, whose Final Smashes only give 20 percent damage. Compared to the Ice Climbers, in which you recieve constant damage, it seems a little unbalanced.
Finally, I love Mr. Game & Watch's final smash. It's excellent.

The final smashes are unbalanced and some are cheap. However, for the most part I like them. And for the last time: His name is WOLF O'DONNEL!!!!!!!!!!! Not Star Wolf. That's the name of his ship and his group. Yes, I'm referring to you flameofdoom666 and all the other geniuses out there.

Actually, N-man, Wolf's ship is called the Wolfen, not the Star Wolf. Just thought I'd, you know, throw that in there while we were belligerently correcting people.

Let me say that within the past week, thanks to Joystiq, I've gone from barely remembering the release date to chomping at the bit to play the game.
However, on a note more pertinent to this post;
Mr. Game and Watch's final smash is amazing in addition to Luigi's and the Ice Climber's. The video makes it evident that this game has a degree of polish and care only the best receive, and its release cannot come to soon.

You guys need to remember that some FS are more advantageous than others given the situation.
The Ice Climbers' FS did alot of damage because they were on a small arena and not to mention that the players wasn't even trying to avoid it. Do it on a bigger arena and it won't be as effective. Much like Ness' and Lucas'.

Also, a few more things:
1. I like how Zero Suit Samus's FS converts her back into normal Samus.
2. The worst FS is probably R.O.B.'s (Yes, in my opinion, even more so than Peaches).
3. Diddy Kong's looks really hard to control.
4. Pikachu's/Sonic's look the most fun.
5. I really wish someone would compile all the FSes on a 4p brawl. :)

on a side note, does anyone know if air dodging, wave dashing, quick recovering, and aerial attack L-canceling made it to the game?? if not, i will definitely be playing melée once in a while.

Wavedashing was corrected due to its inherent cheapness. No items, Fox only, Final Destination. D:
