Rumor: Aussie Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 missing online functionality
There's a vicious rumor currently circulating on a number of message boards that the Australian version of Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 is shipping without online functionality of any description. Forum users at various sites, including Aussie-Nintendo, PALGN, and NeoGAF, have all complained that the in-game menus completely lack an option to play online, while the game's box in Australia has neither the Nintendo Wi-Fi logo, or a mention of the title's much-vaunted 32-player online mode, which is available in other regions.
Just to further confuse matters, the game manual that shipped with the title in Australia reportedly does dedicate a whole page to the online mode. Frankly, we're confused, not to mention a little bit worried for our fellow Wii owners down under.
At the time of writing, EA has yet to respond to our request for clarification.
[Thanks, Peter!]

You know, I kinda like "MoH: Heroes 2"...but I mostly bought it for on-line play. Without on-line multiplayer, the game would have held much, much less value for me...
For our Australian bretheren's sake, I hope these are lies!

I can confirm this as true... bought it yesterday when it hit the shelves on the recommendation of other reviews, and although it was late when I got home, I threw the disc in to make sure it was all working fine (in case I needed to return it) and no multiplayer option presents itself. It also seems that it is ONLY the Australian version, and not other PAL versions either.

So....import a PAL release from Europe then?
Why the hell the Australian market would've missed out, I don't know. Perhaps it's the crap that passes for broadband in this country. Bloody Telstra.

Wow... condolences to the Aussies, because online play was THE reason to get MoH:H2. Without that option, the game is fun but pretty shallow.
Hopefully EA will respond to let us know why this choice was made.

This is easily my favorite game, but no online makes it almost worthless.
What were they thinking?

Don't worry, you're not missing much. Maybe I'm just spoiled by Xbox Live, but MoH's online mode kinda sucked. It was an extreme lag-fest. Everyone else in the game was just kinda floating around without moving their legs, sometimes teleporting 10 feet to the left or right while I fruitlessly try to shoot them. Lame.

Eh, i wouldn't worry too much i have an imported version (I'm from Australia) and the online function works fine, i can't see why they'd remove it when it works just fine.

This is unforgivable.
Let's review just why 3rd parties are failing on Wii. Here's a hint, it isn't Wii. It's the shoddy, gimped games.

Yeah, that "No More Heroes" is utterly rubbish.
