After a quiet couple of weeks on the European and Aussie Virtual Consoles, this week is ... no different whatsoever. Just a single game is on offer to PAL Wii owners this Friday, with Lords of Thunder on the block for 800 points. This blogger won't pretend to be familiar with Hudson's Turbografx-16 shooter; did anybody else give this a whirl back in the day?

Not Familiar!?
The Turbo was a system of shooters. Lords was perhaps the best of them all. It's brutally difficult, visually splendid and has an amazingly good sound-track. This game should be a MUST purchase for anyone who can get it and has the slightest interest in shooters.
:) I'm certainly a fan. I rank Lords up with the original R-Type, which is very high praise from me.

Other than the fact that the game is a bit too easy on the normal difficulty setting, this shooter is one of my all time favorites. I remember the first time I saw this game at CES (before the days of E3), I was totally blown away by its killer graphics and rocking soundtrack. Definitely worth picking up for shooter fans.

I bought a Turbo DUO specifically for this game. It is soooo much better than Gate and I too rank it up there with irem's R-Type.
A great many dollars were thrown into that game in the arcades by me and my friends...

I've never heard of this game before today, but am definitely interested to learn more... Having only recently "discovered" the joy of Soldier Blade, I think that more classic shooters on the Virtual Console are a welcome addition!

OMG where did I put that new Wii points card?
The prequel won me over by ripping off... err playing very similar to Thunder Force. I need to download this one as well.
