As it's the Most Romantic, Passionate Day of the Year™, we'd like to know how many of you regularly get to game with your partner or spouse? Gaming may once have been predominantly male territory, but the numbers are far more even nowadays, and a lot of that seems to be down to Nintendo and its all-encompassing approach. If you are a gaming couple, what are your favorite titles to play together? Do you prefer co-op games, or to compete against one another? And if it's the latter, who wins?

Me and the lady have a fairly fierce and close Mario Kart DD rivalry. She loves Wii sports too (doesnt everyone), she will beat me and most of my mates at boxing. I am working on getting her into Smash Bros in time for the Uk launch whenever that may be.

Hubby and I both game, sometimes together, sometimes not. Depends on the title and genre. We usually play RPG's and strategy games together. He likes shooters, I don't. I like adventures, him not so much.

My wife and I play Mario Party 8 and the Mario/Sonic Olympics together the most. She's been bowling her whole life so I tend to shy away from Wii Sports because she usually beats me. She's waiting for Wii Fit to come out and I'm waiting for Mario Kart. Also she does DDR everyday when she gets home from work....while when she's done I'll play 2-3 games of MLB Power Pros.

Currently at 89 stars in Super Mario Galaxy while playing through with my girlfriend. We alternate turns with each level. We also play fighting games, racing games and minigame collections together. In fact, I actually got my Wii last June because I managed to talk her into going halves on it with me as an anniversary present to each other, and it's been gaming bliss ever since. I have games that I play through on my own when she's at work, but we always at least one game we are working on completing togather at any given time. Wii titles we've beaten together include RRR 1 & 2, Mario Party 8, Warioware Smooth Moves, Excite Truck, Kororinpa Marble Mania, Super Paper Mario, Super Swing Golf, SSX Blur, Soul Caliber Legends, and we regularly play Wii Sports and Bleach together. She was as upset as I was when we found out that Soul Caliber 4 and Burnout: Paradise we're coming to every new system except for the Wii, because we've beaten every previous iteration of those games together. Perhaps this anniversary it's Xbox 360 time.

I'm a girl and i received the Wii as a gift from my boyfriend, well actually it was a gift for both of us!
We always play together, and, most of all, we compete against each other. Principally we challenge at Wii Sport, Wii Playground, and other games..
Nothing too difficult for me!
He always wins at tennis, while I ALWAYS destroy him at handfootball at PlayGround.
Happy Valentine's Day from Italy!

My girlfriend and I play Guitar Hero and soon Rock Band. She likes the Virtual Console stuff — anything Mario, but surprisingly not Mario Galaxy. We also really like Wii Sports, ie Bowling. She digs Tiger Woods, too. Of course, I pwn her at everything :)

My girlfriend and I are both obsessed with gaming in all it's forms. The only issue is that we like completely different genres. I prefer rougelikes, adventure titles, and RPGs while she's into FPS, action and puzzle games. The only thing we've gotten hooked on together is Puzzle Quest.
Any tips for good genre-bending co-op games like that?

Man my girl games more than me. She's beaten every Zelda. But we are currently gaming together on Mario 3 on the VC when I can actually pull her away from Galaxy.

We are generally coop players. She being not a hardcore gamer enjoys just the time and interaction between us. Puzzles, Mario Galaxy collecting, and the occasional GH3. Though she absolutely loves Rock Band and is dying to get it...

The fiancee and I play GHIII, Super Mario Galaxy, Big Brain Academy, and WiiPlay together. In fact, she's better at SMG than I am - giving me pointers when I play levels she's already conquered! :)

Well, since my S.O. is a guy, we play video games all the time! I watch him play God of War 2, Scarface, and (sadly) WoW, and he watches me play Galaxy and No More Heroes. We both really love RE: 4 with the Wii controls. We co-op on RE: Umbrella Chronicles and occasionally Lego Star Wars.

No, I'm sorry to say that I do not regularly game with my GF. She'd rather knit and watch TV. And that means that when she's around, I've either got to not play Wii games, or she'll go into another room to continue with her knitting while she listens to the TV and watches it with one eye. She does like the duck hunt module in Wii Games, and has had some success with Link's Crossbow Training, but she'd rather just knit. Just knit. Just knit...

My wife's frist Wii love was the cow racing component of Wii Play....although she enjoys a mean game of tennis or bowling as well. Recently though, she insisted that I go purchase GHIII after a friend brought it over. So we've played that quite a bit lately. We like getting with other couples and co-op engaging in coop hilarity.

If it ain't Co-op, it ain't happening! There are rare occasions (very very rare) when I can convince my wife to play some Versus mode. These occasions usually happen when the game is new to both of us. For reasons I haven't figured out yet, we don't improve at games at the same pace. So sooner or later, I'm going to start winning consistently and she gets irritated and then bored. I can't lose on purpose, because that kills the fun for us both. Before you know it, I'm playing by myself. Come to think of it, I'm not even sure we own any Co-op Wii games. Thus, we tend to end up playing WoW.

My wife and I really enjoy playing tennis 2 on 2, or some of the other games on Wii Sports together.
We are still pretty new toWii, but we already love it a bunch.
We also like looking at some of the weird Mii's that other people have made... it makes us laugh.

When she can tear herself away from Brain Age 2 on the DS (I think she's addicted), my wife and I play Wii Sports Tennis against each other.

I'm a little....overly....competitive, so I tend to try and avoid playing against my boyfriend because god help him if he beats me. However I do like playing "with" my boyfriend in WoW and have been known to play a little Mario Kart DS against him, but that's only because I can't lose at that game ;). But for the most part between our PC's, handhelds, and consoles we each pretty much play our own separate games but in the same room so we can still talk and visit with each other.

My boyfriend and myself don't play much together, but rather fight over TV/systems/games/etc time. He's currently obsessed with No More Heroes (and I can't blame him) but I want to play it too (or make some progress on Devil May Cry 3 on the PS2)!
We used to play fighters, but I'm apparently really competitive, and get upset if I lose too much, so we don't anymore.
Mostly one of us watches the other play games, which I guess could be called gaming together. ^_^

I try to get my wife gaming more on the wii, she definitly enjoys playing it and would perfer we played a co-op game instead of a versus. I had to buy galaxy after we borrowed it and she enjoyed being the star. Just purchased guitar hero 3 for her and a ps3 for me. pswii combo. although she will probably play burnout and any other racing games. so when mario kart finally comes out on the wii i will have to get that. When i play non-wii friendly games like re4 and some of my gamecube games she will not want to watch and request strongly we play somthing she likes.

My gf and I basically got to know each other through games, she's a big Nintendo fan and I too was raised on the N (though I have a great appreciation for Sega since I got a Dreamcast). We play a lot of games together, from pokemon to wii bowling to anything else we can get our hands on. I prefer co-op because everybody wins, but we'll go at it competitively here and there, like in Phantom Hourglass and New SMB. Currently every time I visit her, we play some SSBM, in preparation/practice for when Brawl comes out IN LESS THAN A MONTH :DDDD

My boyfriend and I do a bit of everything when it comes to videogames: sometimes we quest together in WoW, sometimes we compete against each other in Mario Kart DS and sometimes we just have fun playing different games separately, like me smashing Slash on Guitar Hero III or he immersing in some complicated RPG adventure. I love to be able to share my gaming passion with him :)
