Last week, we told you about THQ's plan to release a Wii game called Deadly Creatures. While interested in the idea, we took up a "wait-and-see" policy regarding the title. The game's official site recently launched, however, giving us a glimpse into the unique desert creature adventure.
From what little we've seen, Deadly Creatures looks like it can be fun as long as the controls are pulled off correctly. Also, we're a little worried that the fighting might get repetitive. THQ has probably thought of that, though, making us think there will be more to the game than just beating up snakes and lizards.
While we enjoyed the trailer, we have to admit -- hearing the poor little screeches of those bugs and reptiles tugged at our heartstrings a bit. Really, we're just big softies.
Deadly Creatures lives up to its name

This looks like it has a lot of promise. I was reading IGN's preview, and I think it could be pretty cool.
THQ seems to be bringing a lot of original Wii games, outside of their standard Nickelodeon games; this, Band Mashups, de Blob, and Big Huge Games' Wii Project (conceptually known as God the Game). And also Worms: A Space Oddity and Destroy All Humans: Big Willy Unleashed (ok, so they're not 'original,' but at least they aren't more Spongebob and Cars)

Does look interesting. If the combat isn't repetitive, I'll have to check it out. It's also good to know that some 3rd parties are wising up and making more original Wii games, and not minigame collections.

I need to say this looks a bit to...umm....vicious for the Wiis bright colours/minigame crowd....
And it will just prove to other devs that the Wii player only want bright/colourful/minigame games when this sells poorly.

Remember with scorpions the smaller their clubbing claws the quicker they'll strike with their stinger. Also be careful as scorpions don't have immunity to any others' venom.

@ Perverted:
The same colour loving, mini game crowd that bought over a million Resident Evil 4 copies, over two million Metroid Prime 3 units, over four million Zelda games, over a million Red Steel and Resident Evil: UC copies? The same crowd who generated enough hype to woo over 10 publishers into trying to bag 'The Conduit'? The same crowd who made Smash Bros. Brawl the fastest selling Nintendo game of all time in America? The same Brawl which has reached 3 million units sold before its even released in many parts of the world? The same crowd who bought enough copies to make No More Heroes debut at #4 in Europe? NMH was colourful sure, but mini-game fest it was not.
All it takes is hype and advertising and anything will sell on Wii. Even this. Its publishers not advertising Wii games that is the problem - not Wii's install base.
