Today on the dojo, news of a stage with its roots in the early GameCube days. Further details (and spoilers) await after the break!
In our time spent writing dojo updates, we've been frequently wowed by stages boasting an impressive degree of interactivity. That said, Luigi's Mansion might just take the (entire) biscuit (tin). Four spindly pillars are all that support the eponymous mansion, and once they've been battered into submission, the entire structure is reduced to naught but rubble.
You can't keep a good poltergeist-infested dwelling down, however; give it time, and the house will reassemble itself. Very nifty, and it's not hard to unlock, either -- use Luigi in three brawls, and the keys are all yours.

I think I've seen this in gameplay trailers on youtube already. Looks like a neat stage. I like the idea of being able to really destroy the environment. It's like the one Metroid stage from Melee, but intensified tenfold.

IMO, the Brawl stages, if you took away the gimmicks like destructability, inversion, or whatever, would be remarkably boring, but the level of interactivity completely makes up for it.

If you take the "gimmicks" away from anything, then it becomes boring.

Think about stages like Hyrule Temple, or Mushroom Castle in the original, those were interesting stages without gimmicks, Brawl seems to have few of these, it has stages with a whole new level of interactivity, so i'm not faulting the game, i was just noticing a trend

"House of Horrors"?
"a stage with its roots in the early GameCube days"?
Could it be.... the Roivas Mansion?
Oh.... you meant really early GameCube days. As in, Day One. Rats. Consoles need more Blue Screen of Death in them.

i think that with the stage builder in this game they needed to make the stages gimmicky otherwise people would complain that their no different than something that they could build

So... If I take out a lower level before I take out the level above it, does the upper level come down at the same time? Or can I make a floating second floor?

Doesn't sound gimmicky, sounds fun! Also, I have to agree with the point of the stage builder making it so that they have to make the stages more interactive and creative. I never really liked Luigi's Mansion, though. It was fun for a couple of hours, then it got really repetitive.

Wow, took you a few hours to beat? First time through, less than two for me... and not because of a guide or anything, it was just VERY SHORT...
