And how does Steven Tyler sing? In shrill nonsense syllables! But also into a microphone! If this listing is accurate, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith will support drum and microphone peripherals. Given that Activision and Harmonix are fighting about interoperability between their instruments, this points to new peripherals. That means that pretty soon the Wii, too, will be flooded with competing drum controllers!
[Update: the RedOctane press release for the game says that you'll play "alongside frontman Tyler and drummer Kramer." So maybe not ...]

Its not a redeeming factor because there's nothing to redeem. An Aerosmith only GH game is awesome in my books.

Has there been any new news about DLC for Guitar Hero 3? Also -- how do you figure out if your version is only playing mono???

If you bought it before this month, it's playing mono only. IIRC, It was a glitch in every copy of the game.

side note, do retail copies of GH3 have a sticker "Now with less mono!" or something to that effect?

The only good thing about guitar hero was the decent music....there really wasn't a game there....now we have aerosmith version so we can basically take out the good music part.......I also hope they give them a digital makeover as they need it....

Honestly? I'm not all that excited about additional controllers for GH:A. I was OK w/ guitar only. Sounds like something they may have added at the last minute to compete w/ Rock Band. Still going to get the game...most likely won't be doing much singing or drumming, though. I'm not very good at singing like Steven Tyler...trust me, I've tried.
Rock Band for the Wii is where I'll be singing and drumming.

Aerosmith once had a computer game that had you strum a guitar (only strings, no frets to worry about) or had a special pick and you had to strum to the rhythm of aerosmith songs and a few others (I remember playing born to be wild) they also had an arcade title with a guitar and a single drum which you had to strum and beat to the rhythm. I have played both and had a copy of the computer one. I cant remember the names off the top of my head, I'll try to dig it up.

I'm guessing since this is a "Best Buy" product description, it was written very quickly by one of the idiots in marketing. They probably saw a guitar game featuring a rock band. They got confused and since Rock Band is the latest game they assume it will work with drums and a microphone. Just my thoughts. I could be wrong.

wow...that is lame as hell, activision and red octane may be able to copy harmonix's game plan, but there is no way they can offer the same amount of QUALITY DLC content, that MTV backed Harmonix can...
