Is the cable a problem for you? Are there any other deficiencies in the official sensor bar that would drive you to replace it?

No. In my current setup, where the Sensor bar sits almost immediately in front of the Disc Slot (horizontal orientation), the cord is actually too long, but i know that will be a boon later on when I move my stuff up to my room or away to college
I finally beat Radiant Dawn, 52 hours and 458 turns

I can think of much better things to spend my money on than a wireless sensor bar. Still though when you think how many Wii's are out there and how many people are looking to get "Johnny" something for his birthday, I'm sure there will be many of these purchased with good intentions.

Maybe Nintendo has stop including them but my Wii came with double sided tape tabs and a sensor bar stand. The tabs can be placed on the bar or the stand to keep things in place. No suction cup needed.

I had to buy a wireless sensor bar because our kittens chewed through the thin wire of the original one. Man, I was about ready to beat a cat that day.
The extra batteries is a pain sometimes but it does make it extra portable. Like for our department Christmas party, I brought the Wii and the TV was wall-mounted, so I was able to plug the Wii into it and place the sensor bar somewhere so we weren't pointing the Wiimotes in odd directions (i.e. up).

Same here. I just picked up a wireless sensor bar the other day because my cat finally (got our Wii on launch day) decided to eat through the cable.

Not really, I dont plan on moving the wii around so the corded one suits me just fine. The only time I could see this as something I might consider in the future is when/if we get a larger entertainment area where the better "range" of the newer bars would be helpful with shooters and such. that is one thing that would bug me, is if the curser started to get jumpy from the weaker bar.

The only problem I have is occasionally one of my cats will pull it down from on top of the TV. It hasn't happened for a month or so now though.

Nate: tape the cord the entire length. That's what I did.

I have no problems with the cord. With my current setup everything runs perfect and also to the guy who mentioned about the bar falling off the TV I have a flat screen and had that problem and quickly got out the stand that mounts the bar to the top of the set. Also if you have lost the mount like my brother he bought some Velcro and it works just fine.

My Wii is in another room entirely from my TV. I made a sensor bar that uses a 9V battery or it can also be plugged into the wall. The only AV things in my living room is my TV, surround speakers and the sensor bar. Clutter is bad.

Well, I got a wireless sensor bar ($8 on Amazon from a deal I found here) because I move my Wii around a lot. I keep it in my room with the corded one, but I keep the wireless one out in the living room for parties. I also take the wireless one to the beach, friends houses, etc. Its a lot nicer than constantly unsticking the wired one, then plugging it in, etc.

Not a problem for me since I have a pretty standard setup. I could see a wireless bar being useful for projection setups, though. And, just like for the remote, the extra cost for batteries is pretty small when you get rechargeables.

My TV and Wii are right next to each other, so if anything the sensor bar's wire is a little too long - but no, I would not change anything about it.

The only reason I got one was for portability. In my living room, the wii is connected to the stock sensor bar and component video cables. I keep the standard AV cable, a wireless sensor bar and a spare AC adapter in a tote bag so I can just unplug the wii from the living room and take it to a friend's house without fussing with unhooking the wires from the entertainment center. Much more convenient.

The sensor bar cable is longer than power wire and tv wire so even if your tv is further away a wireless sensor bar should be a low priority...
MY SB sits neatly on my massive old TV fine, wire is plenty long, although I agree that suction cups or something would be great.

Sensor bar is right near the console. Wire is plenty long and concealed well. No need for wireless.

I needed it for my home theater projector setup. The cord simply wasn't long enough (due to screen size I actually had to buy two)

I'm considering getting one to use with my PC & GlovePIE... much easier than having to power up my Wii to play on COD4

The sensor bar cord was perfect for me. Wii sits on the floor, TV on a stand, sensor bar on top of the TV. Thats probably as far as it would ever need to go and probably the reason for the length.
Now the nunchuck cord.. that sucker has got to go. Wii Boxing requires a delicate twisting and wrapping ritual or else the cord will smack me in the face during a heated bout.

I picked up the Nyco (sp?) bar because of the reports of better accuracy. I'm not sure if it's more accurate, but it does seem to make the system more tolerant of some lights that I have behind the tv.
