Wii Warm Up: 2D remakes

Yesterday's
popular video demonstration of how
Super Mario Galaxy would look on the SNES made us wish there really were 2D remakes of the 3D games we love. Wouldn't it be
totally rad if
Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 was recreated as a top-down shooter in the style of
Medal of Honor: Infiltrator (GBA)? Or if
Super Paper Mario was, uh ... Okay, so that example doesn't work.
What 3D titles, old and new, would you want to see turned into a 2D project?

I would have to agree on the Metroid Prime series's being in 2D. However I would love to see Twilight Princess in the classic Link to the Past top down view.

Virtua Fighter 2...I mean no, not that.
Fighters Megamix or Nights.
Or Daytona USA as a top-down racer with a real emphasis on smashing your vehicle.
So, I was describing Destruction Derby. Remember that game?

Technically speaking, there was a 2D NiGHTS done essentially as a minigame of our favorite little androgynous jester-man flying side-scroll style, but you had to beat a certain quest in the GameCube PSO, then use the GBA uplink to load it into GBA's RAM for temporary play
Fighters Megamix just needs to be done again, period.

I had no idea this even existed. You know a real lot about games.
Nights looks really cool. The music from the GBA sounds amazing, considering its capabilities.

Super Smash Bros. is already a 2D game with 3D graphics.
Personally, I like 3D games. It was fun to see the video of Super Mario Galaxy rendered in 2D, but actually having a playable 2D version of Galaxy would kind of miss the whole point of the game, wouldn't it?

No, I think Samfish is right. I think it was proven that he didn't REALLY die, he just told the internets he died so that people would stop bugging him with "Is it done? Is it DONE? IS IT DONE!?!" I'da done the same thing.

Dark Lord, it's really called " Super Smash Flash " but whatever. Ocarina of time should stay in 3D...when the 2nd LOZ was in 2D it wasn't as good as the others.

A MoHH2 reference. Those are kinda rare here.
If it came with a large multiplayer mode attached, I could dig it. If it's just the campaign, well, after 3 months, I still haven't played that.

Medal of Honor Infiltrator was a pretty fun game. If they remade, oh say, Frontline as a WiiWare topdown shooter in vein of infiltrator, I would buy it.
