It's very strange to see all the normal Final Fantasy characters -- the white mage and so forth -- appear as support characters for a protagonist who hangs out at home. But we like strange.

WOW this looks really awful!
The first Crystal Chronicles was a little kiddy, but it harkened back to the old school style. People really only bought it cause it was a Final Fantasy game on a Nintendo system.
Maybe Square should give us a real Final Fantasy game, not this baby bullshit.

WTF? FFT was not a "real" Final Fantasy game, but it still had a lot of depth and was successful enough to spawn several sequels. For that matter, Seiken Densetsu (Secret of Mana) was originally marketed as a Final Fantasy title (Final Fantasy Adventure on the GB), but was a great game in its own right. Just because they slapped the FF brand on a game that isn't a hardcore JRPG, doesn't mean it's not going to be any good.
I for one am looking forward to trying this (though I'm not sure I'd buy without a demo...)

I agree with you that it isn't the norm for SquareEnix. Yet, you have to understand this about Final Fantasy fans. They will buy it. Those who loves CC for the Gamecube, will buy this. I am interested in it. Sure the Wii isn't a graphics powerhouse, but it more about the gameplay, storyline and characters. Graphics don't make for good gameplay, just think about Lair.

i think it looks like a nice game :)
Square-Enix always put alot of touching things in their storys, and this seems like it will have a nice wee tale to tell :D
I'm interested!

what makes me mad about this game is the fact that it HAS beter graphics than most of the disk based wii games..... It just makes me mad that this even happened this way.....

I'm sure it's going to be lovely, but I have to agree the game looks like all you do is run around staring at vistas, people nodding and the occasionally spiky crystal.
