I can't possibly imagine selling games like TP, SG, Corruption, Strikers, MoH:H2, etc just to get Brawl cheaper, but some stuff like Carnival Games, Madden or Excite Truck (you could prolly get that off of eBay for dirt cheap!) would be worthy sacrifices.
Too bad I'm trying to go to the midnight release at Gamecrazy. I dunno if I can convince my mom to drive me though *sigh* Can't wait to get my liscense!!

Can't part with your games? Buy two copies of Heatseeker from Circuit City for $10 a piece, trade them in, and get Brawl for a total of $30+tax.

Is that against the rules?

Why would it be against the rules? You are trading in two copies of a game that is on their trade-in list. You are paying $10 and Gamestop is giving you $20 for it. Their loss.

Their website sez they're sold out both online and in-store. I guess YMMV at your local store, but don't hold your breath.

I'm just curious to see how many copies are sold on launch day. I bet a cool million copies fly off the shelf by 6pm sunday?
Maybe I will be wrong but hey it seems where I live a ton of people have it reserved and ready to throw down the 50 bucks.
Gamestop midnight launches will also be something to see. I wonder if brawl will outsell Halo 3 over the long term. Not sure about launch day though. Maybe Launch week a ton of copies will sell?

Better idea: Sell two of your games on ebay for more than ebgames will give you but for less than the used games price. That way, you get more money, someone else gets the game for less money, and you get to stick it to the man.

I feel really bad for you. Not only do you own Super Monkey Ball, you can't get the one possible good use out of it.

Check ebay first, you can get alot more for most of those games if you sell them there.

Vidguy, how did you find out that Circuitcity had Heatseeker for $10.
Their website lists the game for $14.99 and I am going to my C.C today to check.
Thanks for the heads up anyways.

Most are reporting that HS is between $10 and $11 in store. Some still see it marked at $15. It's an option anyway. Good luck.

It's funny. I traded in Galaxy about a week and a half ago and go an extra 22% because I was trading it towards Brawl so I got 36 bucks for Galaxy. I had an Edge card with like 3 bucks on it so I will be getting Brawl for about 15 dolars and one traded in game.

It's hard for me to bring myself to trade in games, because the games I actually bother to buy are great games. I still pop in Twilight Princess every now and then despite having beaten it three times. FZero GX still sees plentyof mileage, as does Super Paper Mario and, of course, Mario Galaxy and NMH.
I find myself wishing that I had waited a bit before trading in that copyof Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games that the girlfriend had gotten me for Christmas.

I can just see the dollar signs in Gamestop's eyes. Trade in two games they'll sell in the $30 to $45 range each, AND pay them more money for Brawl.
So at best they get $100 for your two games plus your extra $10 for Brawl. ($45x2 + $10 = $90 + $10 = $100)
Cha-CHING!

You're forgetting something very important. Gamestop has to pay for Brawl to get it and pay for your used games too!
So $100 - $40 (to buy your used games) - $47 for Brawl (to buy it from Nintendo and sell it to you) = $13.
So where is the "Cha-ching" now?

Flavas:
Not quite. They're not really buying your games from you. They're deducting $40 from the $50 Brawl costs. So really what's happening is they are selling you Brawl for $10 and getting two games from you that they will sell for lots of money.
So if it really does cost them $47 for Brawl, the math is more like this:
-$47 + $10 + $45x2 = $53 profit.
Cha-CHING!

vidGuy, beaus27 again, do you know which specific Circuitcity has HS for $10. (City/State)
If I know which C.C is selling the game for $10 that will be my leverage I need to get my store to price match.
thanks
P.S Spread the word, Check out your local CompUSA, because my local store is selling ALL video games at 50% off original price! I picked up BW2 for the Wii for $24.99.

Just to let you guys know... I just traded in Monkey Balls and Smooth Moves for 33 dollars. Gamestop gives an extra 10 dollars for Wii games, even if the other isn't on the list. Although its not 40... its nice to get rid of it. =)
