In a nutshell, this involves:
- Opening every door.
- Grabbing every item-filled orange cube.
- Acquiring every character trophy.
- Clearing every stage.

"We suspect the rest of us will just rush through, settle for 70%, and get back to multiplayer."
So true. It'll take me months to beat the Subspace Emissary to 100%, since we'll be busy using every mode, online and off....

That 70% runthrough is the 2nd thing i'll do. First i'll runthrough classic mode, then beat SSE. But i'll have a bit of practice, since the GameStop where i preordered is holding a Midnight launch and a pre-launch tournament

My first playthrough of SSE got me to 89% in 10hrs when I beat it... And I had no idea how to complete it the rest of the way. Finally, with a week and a half left til the US release comes out, I know.
I'm going to have to do it all over again in a week and a half, why bother finishing my JP version... >.>

I can't use online so I'll have plenty of time for completion, I hope (about the time part, not the online part).

First, I thought it was obvious when it said in the beginning for what you had to do to complete the Subspace Emissary. Go back and read first post.
Second, I decided to try to get 100% on the first run, and made it to about 90% by the time I was at the end. This is on hard mode by the way, just 'cause the normal and easy mode were boring.
An added tip when you are going through the SSE to get 100% completion: The levels that have a green flag are the levels that you missed something (orange box, trophy, etc.), so those levels are the ones you want to go back and do over. I would suggest to first go back to the levels that have secret characters that you can beat and get to join your party (gamefaqs has a list if they're not here). After you beat SSE once and you are going back to complete the levels you missed something in, you are able to choose from your party who you want to play as on the level, instead of having to use the people from the cut-scenes. Also the original cut-scenes that went with the level are taken out so searching for the orange boxes and trophies will go a little faster.
Another tip just because I'm nice: Look EVERYWHERE! When you are going back to get the orange box you missed, make sure to look in every place that you can think of before going through the door to the next part of the level. If you spot a random spring in the air, it probably means that there is an orange box above it off-screen.
So hope those tips help out the rest of you over-achievers out there.

I'm at 99% and I can't find something in the Subspace Bomb Factory, the one that's lower on the map, and I read somewhere that there is a trophy in the place where there is a mite portal and a scrolling screen, but I checked there and I couldn't find the trophy. What am I missing?

Brian, where you see all the mites and a portal on the scrolling screen, you go to the bottom right corner of that little room and press a. There is a hidden trophy there, and you should hear a sound if you got it. If not, try again. I myself am at 99%, but I need one more orange box or trophy left in the top right corner of the great maze. Anyone able to help me?
