If you want to hear some more great Super Mario Galaxy fan mixes, though, we highly recommend this amazing guitar arrangement of "Gusty Garden" by 4CR forum user Pakl. He also did a unique (and very soothing) version of "New Egg Galaxy," which you can listen to here. We're always in awe when musicians can figure out arrangements for existing songs by ear -- an impressive feat, no doubt.
To hear more fan interpretations, check after the break for some piano versions of Galaxy's sweet tunes.
These piano renditions of the game's music are by YouTube user tzohar:
"Good Egg Galaxy" slow paino ballad version

Absolutely awesome. Galaxy's music truly is one of the best collections in gaming history, right up there with Shadow of the Colossus and the like.

That tears it. Between this and the SNESified Galaxy video we had a few weeks ago, Nintendo has to give us a 2D Mario Galaxy for WiiWare.

Wow,
8-bit can sound SO good! Plus, that guitar version was wonderful. Very mellow.
Thanks for sharing,

You're right, the guitar version is wonderful. The first second, that is. After that, the guitar is out of tune. Fail. :(

When looking for music for my wedding, I stumbled on a copy of Orchestral Game Concert. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orchestral_Game_Concert . So during dinner, among the jazz and classical I picked out, was Mario Brothers playing. Also, the wedding song was "Eyes on You". The nice thing, that it only seemed geeky to the people who knew what the songs were. The rest were unaware that it was 'video game' music.

As a kid I had to use a tv monitor with no or mono sound. I'm amazed on what I missed out on with these games now.
