Taito has chosen the Wii for the followup to the brilliant-looking Space Invaders Extreme. A tiny sidebar in the latest Famitsu has revealed a new Space Invaders game for the Wii. Called Space Invaders Get Even, Taito's latest actually casts the players as the pixelated swarm, whose job is to destroy cities. Just going on the screenshot, it appears that you'll have a stock of different Invaders who perform different functions, and who arrange themselves in the familiar 2D formation in 3D space. Unfortunately, other than this screenshot and a little blurb (which calls the game an "action game" and entreats you to "get your revenge"), nothing is known. We're sure we'll hear more soon.

Sorry, had to.
Anyhow, if they didn't bodge this up, I might be interested in it. They wouldn't sell it for full whack, surely?

rather games like this be WiiWare titles...not cause they're unimportant...no not at all, but because pick-up and play games are much better suited to be digital content as they are always on your system, no getting up to change games...

To the person who said this game and games like it should be WW, I disagree. Putting a game like this or other 2D shooters degrades the nature of the games themselves. In principle, I'd rather pay $20 for an actual game disc of an awesome 2D shooter than download it. I hate how shmups seem to get bunched into DLC-only this generation, mostly.

Looks like the part of Destroy All Humans where you control the saucer in order to destroy the towns. I like. :D
