The cheapest way we've found to get Super Smash Bros. Brawl so far is through Gamestop, but if you're not looking to trade in games, you can look to Best Buy instead. The retailer isn't cutting the price of the soon-to-be-beloved Nintendo fighter, but they're offering a $10 gift card when you buy Brawl and another game that's over $39.99.That's still not as good as the Circuit City deal, which also will net you a $10 gift card, but without making you buy a second game. The deal at Circuit City, though, is for preorders only.
So, if you don't intend to preorder the latest Smash Bros., Best Buy may be your best bet. The offer lasts from 3/9-3/29 in stores only, and you must show them the promotional coupon (click the picture to the right).

I went Monday and put in my preorder. I got a good deal also. I traded Mario Galaxy and put it towards Brawl and only hod to fork out an extra $20 and some change. So if you have Galaxy laying around collecting dust then now is the time to trade.

I just took the $10 gift card WalMart.com gave me when they cancelled my old SSB: Brawl pre-order and applied it to my new SSB: Brawl pre-order.
So it'll be a week or so before I get the game... but still less than MSRP.

That's what I did too. It sucks I got to wait a little longer but my friend's going to get it at launch so I'll be able to play a little bit before getting my own.

trading in galaxy is a horrible idea.

Why is that? After you get all 121 starts with both Mario and Luigi there really is no replay value to the game. It was doing nothing but collecting dust and $33 for the trade was a good value to something I have no further use for.

i want my kids to be like,
"what was mario galaxy like when it came out!?"
and i'll be all like,
"why don't you just go into the attic and find it."

I would also have a hard time selling Galaxy. I will totally pick it up again in a few years.
I just bought pricey used versions of FF7 and FF Tactics because I got the urge to replay them. I sold them several years ago for less then half what I just re-bought them for.

FF7 is pricey now? I seriously did not know that. The PlayStation era was when I stopped trading in.
My copy of FF7 = my NES and some games
My copy of Puzzle Fighter = my SEGA and some games
It was for the best as FF7 and SPF2T remain among my favorite games, but still.
On a related note:
31 hours 'til Super Smash Sunday! EST FTW!

I got this email from Best Buy as well and just laughed. I mean, it's great if you have a 2nd game in mind AND have some 3rd mystery purchase ready to blow $10 on.
For me, it's the epic struggle of Time vs. Money. In this case, Time wins, and Gamestop gets $53.49 of my cold, hard, cash at midnight tomorrow. Or rather, $33.49, as I already put $20 down.
Hopefully there will be no YSODs. Yellow Stickers of Disappointment.

As for the Circuit City deal, even though it says it ends on March 8th, I am no longer able to pre-order the game. Quite unfortunate :(

Actually, the image you have in the post isn't the coupon. You can't bring that into the store and expect it to work, because the promotion code needed for the discount isn't on there. You have to click through that email to another page that has the real coupon on it.
Plus the Toys R Us deal is way better anyway.

what's the toys r us deal?

Toys R Us is doing a deal where you buy Brawl and get certain Wii titles for 50% off. Nothing crazy, but you could get MySims or Mario & Sonic for $25, Raving Rabbids 2 for $20, or Zack & Wiki for $15.

What a rip off, at Circuit City you deal the same deal but you don't have to buy another game for $50!

Best Buy will let you buy into this kind of deal WITH another gift card right? Because to not would be really messed up. I'm thinking this + Bully!
