Destineer has officially announced the Iron Chef game that showed up on Gamestop.com a while back. Iron Chef America: Supreme Cuisine will be released this summer for Wii and DS, and puts players through "a series fast-paced and intense culinary challenges." Host Mark Dacascos has (obviously) signed on to provide his voice and likeness to the show, and the press release indicates that more of the show's talent will also appear. We're hoping we'll get to virtually humiliate Bobby Flay.
We expect the game to be a more pompous version of Cooking Mama with disgusting ingredients -- which sounds like a good time. Destineer CEO Paul Rinde said that "the ultimate 'secret ingredient' to these games will be family fun." "Family fun," huh? Is that some kind of sea creature?

Can you "accidentally" launch a killing spree on the spectators and judges? If you can, that would probably be the only reason to purchase this.

Wonder if we can accidentally set fire to some oil and burn down Kitchen Stadium...
As much as Iron Chef is a great series- they should be using the REAL Iron Chef from Japan and not the Iron Chef America series -_- It's just not the same with out Chairman Kaga. *cue pepper bite*

Man I miss the original Iron Chef. I used to watch that all the time, but after Iron Chef America they never show the original. I love Alton Brown but Iron Chef America is just boring to me, and now that I'm learning Japanese I'd like to see the original again and see what I can understand.

I loved the original Iron Chef and I'm a huge fan of Alton Brown, but I just can't see any possible way this game is anything but terrible, except maybe horrendous.

Cooking Mama, despite ending up being pretty decent, is still a sketchy premise for a game. The only reason it came out as anything better than crap is that it obviously had an amazing team of developers behind it.
Theres really no way to win here. Either they come out with a completely crap game, or they piss all over the Iron Chef franchise by turning it into minigames and such.

...but... it's not the original Iron Chef...
And if it isn't, it's never worth getting.
...hey anyone remember watching Iron Chef and Battle Bots in your living room all day long?
Ah... good times.
