Because Carnival Games was such a success (the title has sold over one million copies worldwide), it was only inevitable that 2K would make another game utilizing a similar formula. This newest creation is essentially a miniature golf version of its predecessor, titled Carnival Games: Mini-Golf. We have nothing against a mini-golf game that could very possibly be fun. We are, however, very against the press release calling this title "a hole in fun." It's no secret that we've subjected our readers to some terrible punnery over the years, but there's some lines that you just don't cross.
The game supports up to four players, and will feature characters that were "made popular" from the original Carnival Games. So, if you've missed Carnival Bob so much that it hurt, you'll be able to see him again soon.
Also, if and when this game succeeds, you can bet it won't be the last Carnival output on the Wii from 2K.

god damn right man. it pisses me off that shit like this keeps getting made and worse still retards are buying it.
it means we end up with a very small handful of good games and the wii never reaches its full potential because everyones too busy throwing a fucking hoop or playing some crap tennis game.

not only that, but if devs were smart then wii would be the system of chocie for FPS games, would be the RTS choice due to the pointer, the RPG choicd again because of the pointer, The Racer choice (please use the wiimote more like a steering wheel and not a tilt controller for once.), the Sports choice because you'd swing the bat/club/shoot the ball/throw the fastball ect. And the puzzle choice due to the pointer (a la DS with graphics style), and due to the fact that you can have a whole breed of Zach and Wiki games
God Devs have to wake up and realize that they have so much potential that they are waisting
Oh and they could bring back Mario Paint and use the wiimote as the paintbrush....

I think a lot of people went for the idea of Carnival Games coupled with the price point (myself included).
My wife and I were looking for the smooth and intuitive feel of Wii Sports with Carnival Games - and we were sorely disappointed. Our disc also seemed to have bugs, and as reported here, only white people. I'm white, and I'm a little ashamed to admit I didn't even notice.
My copy went to ebay - maybe younger players enjoyed this title, but I would bet older casual players were let down. If this is any indication of how a mini golf game will play, I shall steer clear.

Well, this older casual player and his family still love Carnival Games.
I don't see why everyone hated it so much, the gameplay is decent, there's a nice selection of different games to play, and while, yes, some games do repeat the same control scheme (disc toss, etc.), we found it easy to control and enjoyable.
The duck & old west shoot-out is still the most fun my family has had with the Wii in a long time.
Well, I love playing mini-golf in real life so if they can find a better way to control it than Wii Sports (I HATE putting with Wii Sports!!) then I'll certainly buy it.

Hmm, remember how awesome the mini golf putting was in the original Carnival games? Of course you don't, that memory has long been repressed due to how horribly traumatic and terrible it was. Well, I have a great idea we can use to steal ignorant Wii owners' money. Let's slop together a whole game around that! We'll even use characters from Carnival Games in our mini golf game, that way we don't even have to do hardly any programming and design work at all.
Sounds great.

The really funny part is that a "hole" in something usually means something is very flawed. A hole in your sock, hole in your shoe, "There's a hole in that plan" etc. So they are basically being very upfront about how bad this game will be; "The idea was for the game to be fun, but there's a hole in that idea.".
