Reader Mark wrote to us pointing out that he rather liked the idea of putting himself up against the Brawl cast. We hadn't even considered this, but now Mii integration in Brawl appeals to us also! It may seem churlish to complain about a lack of stuff to do in Brawl, but then Miis make appearances in other Nintendo titles, so why not Brawl? Think you'd have enjoyed seeing a miniature, blobby version of yourself kicking Pikachu in the gums? Of course you would!
Oh, and bonus points to anybody who can tell us who the dozen Miis above are based on.
[Thanks, Mark!]

But then, wouldn't online end up as Chibi-Hitler vs Hitler vs Kenny vs Chubbier Chibi-Hitler.
Is that what you want?

I was going to say Old Dirty Bastard, Patrick Stewart, Fernando Rocker and someone from Friends... but I can see the Lost people now.
And for the record, my Mii Hitler, Einstein, Ali G and Cyclops team would SO win every battle!
(Oh why isn't Wii sports online?)

Sure, it might end up being Hitler vs. Hitler, but I still like the concept of Mii integration. Honestly, I think it should be a requirement for all Wii games in some sort of capacity.
Someone correct me if they already are in there, but I don't see why they couldn't be put into Mario Strikers, Madden, Guitar Hero, Lego Star Wars, and Super Monkey Ball. Just as a few starter examples. Sure the last two couldn't substitute for the main characters, but they could at least be some sort of unlockables.
I'm no developer, but how hard could it be to slap a Mii face on a generic one-size-fits-all body?

Brawl HAS mii integration, you can pick an icon for yourself online, and that's it.
I would absolutely detest the inclusion of Miis in Brawl, no way that I would accept a playable Mii at any point.

Why not?
If they were given one standard moveset/body and it was just essentially a Mii head popped onto it what would be the problem?

While Mii integration certainly would have been an interesting concept, making them interact with other characters that have established move sets would have been the tricky part. I don't really think it would have worked, and the game might have actually been made worse with it. But, it could have been hilarious results!
Maybe they just need thier own game:
Super Smash Bros: Miilee

You my friend, are a GENIUS.
I don't really care either way. A Mii would be cool for a while, but would just become Hitler vs Hitler vs Kenny vs Chuck Norris. And as we all know, Chuck Norris would win automatically. Al he'd have to do is blink, and everyone would be KO'd. And who wants that? Speaking of that, what would happen if there was more than one chuck Norris?

I suppose you could have a generic Mii move set and make that one of the characters, but what would you drop to add it? You'd also then probably need a Mii associated with each name to decide which skin to use when that player is using it, plus at least three, possibly more, for general purposes (like fighting Team Mii in Classic Mode).
I miss the bonus points at the end of fights. I was frequently Home Run King, though I picked up a lot of First To Fall as well.

It would be cool to have instead of random option, have Mii option.
It would be a random Mii from your Wii, and have random powers from the roaster. So you have no clue who your fighting as even as you play. That would be crazy
If not that than at least have Mii's flying at you during the Mult-Man battles instead of those stupid robots.

I think miis are OK but are pretty much a novelty. To cry out for their use in just about EVERY game is too much.
I'm suprised I didn't hear anybody saying that they wished they could play as their Mii in Galaxy.

I agree they shouldn't be in every game, but why couldn't they be included in all of the sports/group/party/rhythm games? It adds another layer of "being there" to the game.

I'm fine without having Miis in Brawl. For me, it changes the mood of the game too much. Brawl is specifically about fighting with established characters and I like it that way. On the other hand, I think it would be very cool to have a Mii Fight channel available on Wii Ware.

So did no one read the Iwata Asks when Aonuma was being interviewed? He specifically said why he didn't include Miis in Brawl.
"Of course, I think there was a possibility of taking Smash Bros. in a more casual-gaming direction. For example, we could make the art style simpler or make it possible to use Miis. However, with the various titles that the Wii was to offer, I felt that people were looking for something different."
He felt that Miis would make the game simpler or more casual than it already was, and he didn't want that out of the game.
For the Mii lovers, at least he included the option to use their faces as online avatars.

IIRC, when the Mii concept was introduced, Nintendo's statements suggested that they would be included in the majority of Nintendo's games and would be available to third parties. I'm not seeing that happening and it is sort of disappointing. Miis are supposed to be your personal in-game character, not just an avatar. You were supposed to be able to take your Mii through a brawl with Mario and friends, then pop in a new disc and go kart racing. Play football against the pros, then smash Luigi against an electric fence on the soccer field.
The Mii concept was very intriguing and one of the selling points for me, actually. I think it's been a few months since I've even seen a Mii now.

I'd like a "create-a-custom brawler" feature. I don't know if the Wii could handle it, but you'd be able to create a character based on already playable characters and their move lists. Combining things of what you like and don't like from characters etc... Specific moves cost specific points so you can't just make an uber character, but you can also level him up and allow different clothes and whatnot.
I'd like to see that, but I'm perfectly content (if not overjoyed) with what I have gotten from Brawl.

It would be ridiculously difficult to add that and keep good balance in the game, especially if you can level up your character.

personally what i don't like about the game is the controls for differences in walking and running. a normal push to the left or right to walk and a fast "tap" to run. I'm in the middle of a hectic death match i don't have time to slowly walk up to an item to get it before the other person does, it's between that or run past it and fall off the edge or have your opponent get it anyways. I wish they could have done a double tap of the stick in the desired direction, if i can change it to that someone PLZ tell me, cuz i just remembered controls are customizable

A Tetris level.
Seriously! Imagine the awesome. Pieces you can climb on that are falling and making lines and disappearing. You'd have to avoid the falling pieces or else get smashed by them. Missed opportunity. You could even make it green and Game Boy-ish. There's already Tetris music in the game and they're willing to do a Game and Watch level, why not a level for one of the most important games in Nintendo history?
I made a Tetris level in the stage builder, which is how I got to thinking about all this.

Awesome idea, that'd be a fun level. I don't agree with calling tetris one of the most important games in NINTENDO history though. Gaming history, definitely, but tetris has always been on a wide variety of platforms and isn't tethered to nintendo.
