Guitar Hero: Beatles has been 'talked about'
Guitar Hero: Aerosmith? Thanks, but we'll pass. Guitar Hero: Beatles? We're listening! Not that such a game has been officially announced, but Martin N. Bandier, the biggest of all bigwigs at Sony/ATV Music Publishing (the company that owns the John Lennon/Paul McCartney copyrights), would like to see the Liverpudlian legends in their own Guitar Hero game.
"It's something we have talked about and something I'd like to pursue," Bandier told the LA Times. Hear that? They've talked! It's surely only a matter of months until we're strumming our plastic axe to I Am The Walrus!

I so hope that they do a Beatles edition. I talked about this back in February on my blog http://grantalias.vox.com/library/post/aerosmith-guitar-hero.html

I'm one of the holdouts that doesn't own Guitar Hero, but if this happens, it would be a day one purchase for me.

It would need to be something much more interesting than Aerosmith or the Beatles to get me to lay down that much money for a game, plus another controller for co-op.

I'm sure everyone would kill for some obscure version.. That's what the internet is for though. Only the real big name bands will get official.

Definately. A punk version would rock. Or maybe just a Fat Wreck Cords version.

Why is there so much hatred for the Aerosmith version? I'm not that into Aerosmith but they have some good songs. I'm thinking I'll mainly pick it up so I can get a second controller, so I dont have to pay $69.99 for just a controller!
but yea I would buy the Beatles version too.

This might bring some great songs to GH, but it wouldn't bring great guitar songs. The majority of Beatle's songs are completely simple and boring, as far as the guitar part is concerned.

THANK YOU! There are way better bands with way better guitar "heroes" that they could model another game after... Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, etc...

I can see what you mean, although I wouldn't say their guitar stuff is boring. Overall it's just more chord based than say Hendrix's stuff. Songs like Something, I Want You, And Your Bird Can Sing, and While My Guitar Gently Weeps would be great for GH:B. It would also be cool if they had their solo music as well. George Harrison's guitar work on All Things Must Pass would be perfect.

I'm Down
Helter Skelter
Revolution #1
Taxman

Strawberry Fields Forever
Get Back

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Help!
I could keep going but really........
There are more than enough "guitar" songs for a Beatles version...

That could be said about a lot of bands, but it doesn't mean it should be done. Most of those songs you just named aren't the typical beatles songs that people would want to see. Of course they probably have some good guitar songs considering they recorded like a million songs, but their best songs are not guitar songs. Plain and simple.

I loved the breadth of songs in GH3. That's what has been shying me away from the Aerosmith version, and probably this one as well. Although both bands have a long repertoire of songs, which span genres, both of these will be fighting the boredom factor.

The Aerosmith game will have other bands that aerosmith likes or has played with, so there will be more depth than just one band.

The Beatles were total crap until they started doing drugs. Even then they were basically bubble gum pop from across the pond. What's next? Talks of a game that's nothing but karaoke of Elvis music. Give me a damn break.

I'll admit I'm not a fan of their early stuff either, but some of their later material is pretty excellent. I'd be hesitant to dismiss albums such as Revolver and Sgt. Pepper's as "bubblegum pop."

What would the guitar be?
I'm assuming it would stick to Gibson, so it'd be an Epiphone Casino... or they would stick to the Les Paul and SG that George played at one point.
If they strayed from Gibson, we could see John's Ric or Paul's Hofner bass...

Great! Bring some of their songs to a GH game (GH:4? Maybe)
But an entire game for just them (Like the Aerosmith one)?
I would want to see an entire set list of songs chosen before I bought one.
Although, in hearing that the Aerosmith version is going to have a 2/3 song ratio in the set list, There is at least some hope.

I wounder how many songs would be included in this, I guess GH:Aerosmith will give an estimate of how much the Beatles version would have.

Aerosmith is a great band. I just don't understand all the hate NintendoWiiFanboy has towards them.
Anyways, I feel like there is too much Guitar Hero, especially if they are going to be charging for price for the games.

I don't know which songs Michael Jackson has the publishing rights to , but you can almost bet he'd be cashing in more than The Beatles themselves.

Hah! Funny thing, I just got the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band vinyl that I won off eBay, today.
I hope this happens. I'll buy it on the Wii, rather than my 360. A bold move on my part.
