SouthPeak has made aware their intention of providing Wii owners with an action game in X-Blades. As one might expect, the game will be chock-full of hack-and-slash gameplay and includes a scantily-clad, anime-inspired female heroine. What else could you possibly need?

I think it looks pretty awesome. The backgrounds are especially vibrant and look pretty detailed. And I certainly do like the main character! Hopefully it'll play well.

I know that the wii is not as powerful as the 360 or PS3, but it is capable of graphics. MP:Corruption and Brawl have more than adequate visuals, and a huge number of consoles sold, so what's the hold up? Am I the only one who owns a wii as his only console?

Yeah, it's not like Wii is not a Next Gen, because, as far as I know, a new generation is the offsprings of the last generation, like myself, i'm the next generation for the generations previous to 1985, as any new born this year will be the Next current Generation. In this case, Wii, PS3, 360 are the next generation consoles, cuz they are the new offsprings of the new console gaming co. But i'm pretty sure this stupid bastards takes next generation as "better graphics, better sound". So, accord to these suckers, we have a next generation of computer each and everyday huh?
Ya know, things like this makes me wanna develop a game so good, to prove how powerfull Wii is, and also, this are PS2 graphics, i don't any any "next generation feature" on them, even kingdom hearts has better graphics than what they showed

wow. And before the announcement I was actually thinking to myself that besides the nice lighting, they could have done better graphics wise on the wii. Now this is 360 and ps3 only? if so.. try BUMP MAPPING on the ground at least.. it's flat and blurry textured. Not only that, but the "explosion" of blood in that one picture is literally just that... one single flat picture. yuck. If this is only for the other systems then i doubt they will make much money on them. Those "hardcore" types look for one thing and one thing only at first... and that's graphics. If they can't get to at least that point, no one will stick around for gameplay.
and i agree, most games that use sex appeal like this are trying to make you not realize the game play is bad.. like dead or alive (which gets old fast). However, I will say that Soul Calibur (not the last one) gets praise for being sexy but good at the same time lol.

I sort of agree with what you are saying about how games often use sex to sell below average products, but DOA is actually a really good fighting game. "Realistic" chest physics aside, you actually have to know what you are doing to be good in it, it's really unlikely to win a match by button mashing.
