The full paying-for-DLC experience detailed
You have to download an updated My Life as a King from the Wii Shop (and delete the old one) before you can have the privilege of adding any of the new content to your game. Luckily, the interface for feeding your money to the game is nice, and doesn't force you back out into the Wii Shop again. The menu shows how many points and blocks you have available, and the cost in both Wii Points and space of each item on the list.
The only thing missing is a pop-up window that provides periodic "WHAT ARE YOU DOING" and "YOU COULD BE BUYING BONK'S ADVENTURE WITH THOSE POINTS" messages.

But does Bonk give you the option to purchase an "Extravagant House" for 100 points?

I've figured out the problem. Nintendo, understandably, thinks that *everyone* sells products that PRINT MONEY. They have *two* of the little buggers, so why shouldn't we proles have at least one? I mean, surely we all have 9100 Wii points just sitting around to blow on whatever we want... what's 100/300 more or less?

Nintendo didn't make FF do that, so blame Square for dishing out the DLC.
And besides, a lot of people ARE STILL GOING TO BUY THESE.
... I've played MMOs for far too long to realize how many rich kids are out there trying to become "the best" with their cash.

The Wii Shop interface needs to be integrated into GHIII and Rock Band. Please?
There would be at least a tenfold increase in Wii Points card sales.

Glad to hear that the DLC process was very smooth and integrated.
Disappointed to hear how much the FF DLC costs (although I never was planning on buying the game in the first place - not a Final Fantasy fan).
It sounded like each of the new buildings also brought forth a new dungeon. "...you can't build any of the five new buildings unless you first clear a new dungeon that pops up on the world map." Not sure if that is actually the case or not...
