Check Out, the official Wal-Mart blog (!) has announced that, as they did with Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Sam's Club will hold a launch party for Mario Kart Wii. The event will take place at midnight on Sunday, April 27th. If you're still Wii-less but desperate for Kart, we suggest you get there late Saturday night, because each Sam's Club will have at least 15 Wii systems available.
The blog also promises a "GREAT price" on Mario Kart Wii, which is probably the MSRP minus eight cents. Of course, you also have to be a member of Sam's to get that "GREAT price."
[Thanks, Bobby!]

They are selling Smash for about $6 under MSRP; MK will probably be something like that. At least it covers tax!
More interesting is the Accessory Pack they have going: Remote, Nunchuk, Classic Controller, 2000 Points Card for $84.78. That's about $15 under MSRP.

Super Smash Bros was $43 at Sam's Club. I'll bet they'll do the same for Mario Kart. 7 bucks is not bad.

Wal-mart and Sam's Club can both go suck a toadstool. I'll pay over MSRP before giving those schmucks one cent. Heck... I'd even go to GameStop before either of those stores.

...why? Or are you just jumping on the Sam Walton hate train? I'll save myself $7 by going to Sam's unless you can back it up.

I'd suggest you try following the news. This isn't the time or place to attempt to catalog all the crap this company pulls. Try walmartwatch.com or wakeupwalmart.com if you want details.
Or you can just decide that your $7.00 is the most important thing.

Those websites are NOT news. Any movie by Al Gore is NOT news. Pamela Anderson telling me to stay away from fried chicken is NOT news.
I follow the news. You know what I saw this past week? A bunch of grand standing politicians putting the CEO's of oil companies on trial for making a profit. Apparently, you feel the same way about Wal-Mart. God forbid a company be succesful today in America.
Does that mean I agree with everything Wal-Mart has done corporately? No - but it does mean that I believe in market competition and saving a buck. And if you think that any of the other stores you might buy your product from are after anything other than increasing their shareholders' equity or gain in the market, then you are wrong.
But you know what? You were right about one thing. This ISN'T the time or place to throw around half-baked comments - so you can keep the rest of those to yourself.
To that end, I will save myself $7 and continue to buy from Wal-Mart and Sam's Club. If you were smart, you would too.
