We get to have our say about what we'd like to see on the Virtual Console every single week, and now Nintendo Power is giving its readers the chance to do the same. At first, we thought Nintendo Power just might be able to turn Nintendo's head to what the fans want (it is, after all, the official Nintendo tome for the U.S.). And then, we read the disclaimer: "This is for polling purposes only, and will in no way determine future Virtual Console releases." But we don't believe them. Actually, we kind of do believe them, but it's worth a shot, right? Right?
If you want to take part and push your game up the list, just drop a line to vcpoll@futureus.com, and the magazine will do the rest, totting up the votes and publishing the top 100 most requested not-yet-Virtual Console games in a future issue. It'd be nice if you put in a shout for some of our favorites as well. Not that we're Secret of Mana suggesting you Pilotwings 64 do anything Alf untoward like rigging the results.

Nice.
I own, and have played through, almost every major SNES RPG. In my opinion, no game deserves a VC release like Earthbound does.

unfortunately my interest in nintendo power died shortly after Howard and Nester got canned. Unrelated, but gives you a timeframe. It was great back in the day... i still have the zelda map around here somewhere. But nowadays, I can get tip, hints, maps, etc for free with a quick google.
If this was a web based poll, i'd be happy to vote for megaman.

Whoa. Now that you say it, I remember Howard and Nester. Man, that takes me back. They will release SMRPG, or I will become an even bitterer old man.

I used to be able to choose my subscription gift when Nintendo still did it, but now that it's in the hands of Future US, they're only offering one bonus at a time. That, and it seems like the new crew doesn't even try, so I let my subscription lapse. Plus, it also helps that I read Wii Fanboy (and DS Fanboy and the non-French Joystiq) every day.
...I miss those T-shirts.

That game wont ever appear on the VC. They are remaking it for the DS and wouldn't want to hurt its own sales.

@flame:
So... is it a remake? Or are they just porting it?
If I remember correctly, no matter how good the game is, whenever it's REMADE for a Nintendo handheld, it can be RUINED.
Not saying it's always ruined, saying that the risk is too high.
(Take Guardian Heroes advanced.... *sigh* how sad that such a great game could be ruined)
I'd rather get a simple port into the VC, than risk a REMAKE on a DS... (they better just add WiFi for the DS, nothing more)

yeah, it's a remake done in the style of the Kirby GBA games, under the title Kirby Ultra Super Deluxe. It actually looks pretty good so far. Since the DS has the same controler buttons as the SNES, control changes shouldn't be a problem. And all the games, except the Arena, as it wasen't seen in the available screenshots, are currently confirmed.

Here are my submitted suggestions:
1. Terranigma (SNES): Unleased in America, but Europe and Japan got it. A very epic Enix game in the Soul Blazer Trilogy with Soul Blazer amd Illusion of Gaia.
2. Super Mario Kart (SNES): For celebration of the upcoming release of Mario Kart Wii. I'm als fed up with them releasing sequels on the VC before the first games.
3. Super Smash Bros. (N64): Speaking of celebration for a major release, Super Metroid for Metroid Prime 3, Mario Bros. 3 for Mario Galaxy, but no SSB for Brawl? The hell?
4. Mega Man (NES): Not only because I'm a Mega Man fan, but because it's among the many games Japan and Europe got for the VC but America didn't. We got crap for 2 months straight instead.
5. Resident Evil 2 (N64): It may not be a great port, but at least it's something. And besides, the GameCube version can't be found for less than $50 USED WITHOUT A MANUAL. I'll take what I can get.

Oh, that explains it. Back when I was on an SNES emulator kick in college, I played through the whole trilogy -- I had rented the first two when I owned the console, but hadn't heard of the third one, and had forgotten the first two, so I started from scratch. All fantastic games, and I had wondered how I had missed out on Terranigma.
You know, my "desert island" (/"after the bomb") game collection would consist mostly of SNES RPGs... there's really nothing like them before or since.

I'm too lazy to vote, especially since I doubt it'll affect the VC in any way, but my top 5? Hmm, hard to pick, so this list may vary slightly depending on my mood:
1) SUPER MARIo RPG (Always.)
2) Kirby Super Star
3) Either Banjo Kazooie game (or both)
4) DK64
5) Umm... why not? Mario Party. (this slot definitely will vary depending on what I feel like playing...)

I hope that we can get Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. Now that it's coming out in Japan and it has already been translated for the PSP, I hope we can get an English version on the VC. I don't know how possible it is, but I'd also like to see Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It is available to download on the 360 and PS3, so the Wii is the only current gen console that can't play it. I hope that changes.

let me think about this for a second...
1. Sonic 3 and Knuckles... nah, let's try something that I don't already have 3 differen't versions of...
1. Mother/EarthBound *Zero* (NES) - The treehouse group at NoA did a really good job with Mother 2, but personally, I'd much rather see the original get the glory it deserves.
2. Star Ocean (SNES) - one of *Square*Einx's lesser known franchises... but that dosen't mean it isn't just as good. With a great story and an amazing Real Time Battle System, there's no reason why this shouldn't be translated and put on the VC... that is, if nintendo can get the compression scheme down.
3. Hey You, Piakchu! (N64) - I'm a sucker for pokemon. Just make this game compatable with the GCN microphone, and I'm sold.
4. Chrono Trigger (SNES) - Awesomeness that cannot be described in 2 sentences
5. Earthbound (SNES) - Awesomeness that cannot be described in 2 sentences
Also, anything that involves Puyo Puyo must be brought over. They did a good job with Puyo Puyo 2 and its US equivalents, but we need more Puyo Puyo! Specifically, Puyo Puyo~n Party and Puyo Puyo Sun 64 (both N64) need to be brought over, allong with the original NES Puyo Puyo. yes, it's the same puzzle game, but it's just so fun!

I wonder how nintendo chooses what games to put on VC. You would think a poll of nintendo fans would be pretty important information for them because it tells them what nintendo fans will spend their money on, but then again they might not even take it into account. Does anybody here have better insight into the mystery that is VC releases?
