It's Monday again, which means we check out what's on the radar for Wii. This week, a pair of new titles release, including Atlus's latest for the Wii. It may have been pushed back a few times, but RPG fans may finally rejoice. This week's releases are:
- Mini Copter Adventure Flight
- Baroque

I bought my Wii and flat screen HD TV (sure, a tiny little 26", but still) months ago just in anticipation of Baroque back in January (when the game was still slated for February)! SO IT BETTER NOT SUCK!!

Ok, I've seen lots of screenshots, but what the HELL is Baroque about anyway?? Art?
Whatever, I'm holding out for Okami anyway.

As I understand it, it's supposed to be a dark real-time RPG in the style of something like Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer. To be clear, the stories and beasties in either game have absolutely no connection but both are very "hardcore" roguelikes ("hardcore" in the sense that they both inflict the major death penalties of losing all experience and items on you when you die).

The most informative previews of the game so far (and chock-full of story spoilers, so be warned) can be seen at Siliconera:
Part I

Part II

While I think Spencer enjoyed it...he also made it clear that it could be pretty frustrating and confusing as well.

Baroque is on my "list to play" for some reason, but I can't remember why.

It's an RPG. On the Wii.
...that's pretty much the only reason you need for it to be on your list.

I'd maybe getting it when a price drop comes, it's not like a must on my list, but it's pretty interesting game

I still have way too much on my list, like making the jump from medium to hard on GH3, and, since the weather finally turned nice, there is a huge list of non-nintendo related stuff.
If I could control my mower with my wii-mote, that might get me back into gaming, but I think that's about all I have time for this week.

I was thinking about buying a subscription to Nintendo Power, thank you for saving me 20$.
I'll just stick with Wii and DS Fanboy for my news and metacritic for reviews.

I liked the sound of Baroque until I saw the reviews... so far, all I've heard are terrible things about the game, so I dunno if I wanna spend my money on it...
Besides, doesn't Mario Kart come out this month? Please release Super Mario Kart on the VC in anticipation, that one was amazing...

Will someone just rent it already and ignore the reviews?
Or how about someone be more daring and just BUY the darn game and once again IGNORE THE REVIEWS!!! ... *sigh* Try it out, then confirm whether the "professionals" were correct.

I don't have spare 50 dollar bills laying around to gamble on games.
I'd rather get some perpsective from reviews first.

Has anyone heard anything about MiniCopter Adventure Flight. I know it's not a large title or anyting, but I remember seeing some videos/pics of it way back at IGN when it was first announced and it looked like it could be a good cheap game. ATM there is only one review on Metacritic....seems to be a better game at least than baroque.. N Power gave MiniCopter a score in the mid 60's.

I was interested in Baroque, but I want to wait for more reviews. Doesn't look too promising so far though.

Seeing as though the chances of this coming to Europe are slim to none I probably won't be playing this.
