Most companies choose to issue media via press releases or exclusive articles. But here we're talking about companies with actual games, not just a campaign of windbaggery and empty promises. Nibris, where they tend to focus on the latter, apparently feels releasing what is purportedly the first and only screenshot of Sadness to date (two years late, mind) to some random dude on the Internet is what makes for good PR.
The IGN Wii boards have blown up over the past few days due to the unending campaign of one Nibris supporter, a single purported screenshot, and a few cryptic remarks from the Nibris president himself, who is long known to frequent message boards. The numerous threads are a mess, so we'll attempt to sum up: user Twiilight_Prince posted the above, stating it was an actual in-game screenshot from Sadness and that he had received it from Nibris. He then apparently received messages from the user posting as Nibris, asking him to remove it. He did. Someone else also posted it, and received similar messages. Eventually, the reported PMs were posted. In them, Nibris (who we assume is president Piotr Babieno) did in fact ask for the shot's removal ... and also promised that there would be screens from Sadness and a trailer next month.
Now where have we heard that before? It's same to assume we're not holding our breath around here -- but here's the apparent screenshot for your perusal.
[Thanks, Joe!]

I dunno, Infinium Labs' Phantom console was pretty fantastic. I mean, they even named it the "Phantom." In fact, I think I heard they were making a really cool keyboard/mouse combo made to sit in your lap, which was going to be released last year, then late last year, and kept getting pushed back more and more. I mean, what can't those guys not produce?

It looks legit, but I think at this point, does anyone care? Sure it was exciting when the wii was released, but common... what's taking so long.
Sometimes delays are good though, like Twilight Princess. They're annoying, but this game better be something knock-you-off-your-feet amazing to justify it. And no offense, but i don't see the people who play Wii games really into this game too much. To spend so long in development costs money and I doubt he's going to really come out on top. (well, unless it has a RE title on it...)
If he doesn't deliver on the trailer and screenshots it will be the last time for me. This game better have an '08 release date when this is all said and done.

i don't think it's accurate to say that people who play Wii games won't be interested in this. maybe not each and every casual gamer.. but there are still millions and millions of people who would buy this game, in my opinion. just look at the number of people who are active on forum threads around the internet discussing this game.
anyway with that said, i can't wait to see this game released. im still trying to remain optimistic but i had actually forgotten about the game until i saw this news article. nevertheless, it will likely be one of the most amazing games we've ever played once it does get released.

As I recall, the Phantom was intended to attract speculative capital in order to defraud investors. I haven't heard anything like that about Nibris. I think it's sad that they've had so much trouble putting out a product, but I don't see what they have to gain.

I think it's some sort of apparatus in a mine shaft. A release for the cart, maybe.

Is it just me or does that in game screenshot look fake for some reason? I know it's supposed to a horror kinda game, but it's awfully dark! My guess would be this is and will remain vaporware.

Yes, it is true, that screenshot was leaked by me, yurs truly on IGN's Wii Lobby Message Board, Looks like you have a screencap of a screencap, the quality of that picture has been muffled greatly, I have a crystal clear version in my E Mail from Nibris, just to let you know, the screen they sent me was so large, i could only fit a piece of it in the screencap that was leaked worldwide, I assure you the pic is legit, dont let the old movie filter and other filters over the image fool you, Sadness will be a very dark game, Look for new screenshots, videos of gameplay and new trailers coming in May on Nibris' new website :) oh and BTW people...YOUR WELCOME FOR LEAKING IT!

New website coming in May? Which year would that be then?
Oh how my Sadness grows. There was another screen leaked a few days ago - along with a claim that their website would release erm, yesterday - but that pic leaves a bit more hope. If Sadness is real then it certainly is pretty.
