We're not surprised that the majority of you aren't excited by the Wii's gimped version of Rock Band. If you actually were looking forward to it, though, and happen to live in Europe, EA just offered you another kick in the face. The company announced today that the Wii, PS2, and PS3 versions of Rock Band won't be hitting the continent until August 29th. So, if you were planning on jamming this summer with your fake band on Nintendo's console, it's not going to happen. Of course, you could always get the Xbox 360 version instead, since it comes out in May and actually has online play and DLC, unlike the Wii version -- but it might cost you an arm and a leg. Though, to be honest, we're not really sure what the going rates for arms and legs are these days.
[Update: EA retracted their confirmation of the date, and is back to saying that all non-360 versions of Rock Band will release in Europe "later this summer." The company also states that the August 29th date on the fact sheet was an error. Very shady, EA!]

Whatever. Rock Band Wii is a slap in the face from Harmonix/EA. It's lame enough that you blamed no DLC on Ninty (WiiWare, anyone?), but what's your excuse for the lack of create a rocker, band world tour, and online quickplay?

sn1per, funny you should ask that. I have emailed Harmonix and Pi Studios about this. Both of them tell me that those features you mentioned were cut because the Wii doesn't have the processing and rendering abilities to make custom rockers and use them in a game

I highly doubt that. These are the same people who still claim that DLC isn't possible on the Wii, and we all know thats a load of bull.

Yeah, Europe just gets screwed over later than the US after horriblemonix ports their crappy version over there too.
They will probably jack the price waaaay up to like they did for the other versions.
Shame they can't pull their heads out of ___, and get Nintendo to help them get DLC working, along with the other stuff they are putting out in the castrated Wii version...
