The latest game in Namco Bandai's milked-to-death RPG series (though the relative milked-ness of the Tales name may not have any bearing on the quality of this game!) features a new twist in the form of 200 unique monsters, all of whom can (and, perhaps, gotta) be caught. You can swap out monster party members and alter their stats with various foods.
Dawn of the New World will dawn on the shelves this fall.

I am currently playing through the gamecube predecessor. It is my first journey through a "Tales of" game and I am really enjoying it. I am looking forward to this sequel.

Symphonia was also the first game in the Tales series that I played. I really enjoyed the characters, storyline, and most of all, the battle system. It got me hooked on the series and now I have played through most of the titles.
I'll buy this game regardless, but I dunno if I like the sound of a party made of monsters. And I hope that the story is such that it justifies bringing back characters from the original Symphonia. Guess we will have to wait and see. Anyways, I look forward to it!

What other Tales game or 2 would recommend highest for someone who enjoyed (is enjoying) Symphonia?
I am with you. I am also a little leery about the Monster stuff.

If you have a PS2, I would definitely get Tales of the Abyss. If you are interested in importing games/ able to tolerate playing a game in Japanese, I would recommend Destiny (remake), Destiny 2, and Rebirth. Those are all for the PS2.
Unfortunately a lot of the good games in the series have not, and will not, be localized.

Hmm - it sounds a lot like Pokemon, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. A lot of people would be very happy to see a true Pokemon adventure on the Wii. This might end up being pretty good. (I hope so.)

Phantasia was good, I liked Symphonia more though.
I hope the battle system doesn't get ruined to much as I really liked the ToS one....It could be good I suppose...I really hope it works and I hope the story fits in well and isn't just a cheesy cash-in....
