The King of Games' "Get Ready"
shirts, like
all of their shirts, are mindblowingly awesome. The designs are attractive and interesting -- much more so than most gaming shirts. To us, they look a lot cooler than most
non-gaming-related shirts. The new shirts from
Meatbun are similarly spectacular and arty, while also being undeniably
about video games. Our discussion question comes in two parts: first, is it worth the premium "fashion" prices to get awesome, fashionable gaming shirts? Second,
can a video game shirt be cool? We don't mind being visibly nerdy to an extent (though we have a rigorous Shirt Nerdiness Rubric), but then we don't really have to leave the house that often.

The shirts look great but, I don't think you should pay $50 for one T-Shirt.
Also, Can I see the Shirt Nerdiness Rubric?

the shirt.woot (http://shirt.woot.com) of the day was already sold out at 6:45 am cst, which is unfortunate, because at $10, this would have been a great, great, great buy for nintendoers. i'm hoping it makes it to their day of reckoning page, and then i might pay $15 for it. more than that, though, and i don't really think it's worth it.

Videogame shirts over here in Scotland are already quite fashionable. I see people wearing Sonic or Mario shirts quite a lot. However most of the people wearing them have no idea what they are, they just get them because it's cool.
A usual conversation would go something like this:
Me: Oh that's a nice shirt.
Them: Oh, yeah! It's Pac man :3
Me: No.. It's Space Invaders.
Though I did have a strange man shout at me for wearing a VG Cats shirt once.. It was not the most pleasant of experiences but at least he understood the videogame element..

My husband had a bunch made for me. :P
Games are mainstream enough these days for gamer shirts to be cool.

And yet you lost a sense of pride and humanity by buying it at Hot Topic. *sigh*

And my wife got a very similar shirt at Kohls, for $8. Mine is of a screen from World 1-1. I think Kohls must have bought all the excess from Hot Topic and is selling them at low prices. With how hot the Wii and VC are right now, my oldest son's friends have been saying how cool I am.
That is a pretty sad statement about 8 year olds. I'm not cool cause I work hard to support the family, build a pinewood derby car with my son, take the kids on vacation, nope I'm cool since I put on a T-shirt my wife got me :(

i've paid more for shirts. i plan on buying a couple of the king of games shirts when they make their way over to the states.
i think video game shirts can be fashionable. like anything else, it just depends on execution. they tend to be sort of tacky, but i have seen a couple i'd wear.
